Help With Organic Setup Please

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I am not new to growing, however the need has arisen for me to get some medicinal plants growing fast. I have ordered some seeds with high CBD and low THC which I expect to arrive in a couple of weeks. I would like to explore all of my options as far as growing them as organically as possible, but I am willing to compromise on some things to reduce problems (such as pest problems, soil problems- bacteria etc)

Are there organic nutrients available in a Part A Part B or complete nutrient? Similar to regular nutrients?

I have read a few things on the net where people are adding this, adding that, and it all sounds complicated.

I have read alot about worm castings. Where would I get this? What else needs adding to castings to produce a full spectrum nute?

Is there an organic substitute for something like PK 13-14, - a phosphorous additive for adding during bloom?

Any suggestions on growing medium? with pest problems reduced to minimum?

There is not much on the net that I can find on organic setups, if you have any info I would much appreciate a link or further info.

Any info appreciated

Regards

aussie

One word :: Aquaponics!

now more words, aka "waffle"::

I've got an aquaponics setup at home for some garden vegies and they're growing better than anything else in the garden, the peas I harvested were the sweetest I've ever tasted (even my dogs were caught eating them), there's one member on here who runs an aquaponics setup and the plants he grows honestly come out looking a dream.

Plus depending on how you do it you can breed and sell the fish for some legal profit! or if you use an edible fish then you get a free tasty meal. If you go the option of ornamental fish I'd seriously recommend looking at Rosey Barbs as they are probably one of the more hardy ornamental, plus wholesalers sell them in lots of 100 so at your local store you can get 5 for $5 sometimes

All done organically with the pros of hydroponics but minus the "additives" and sometimes spoiled flavors.

I've used the BAC organic grow and flower nutrient, with their organic PK booster as well as organic grow and bloom stimulants.

Synthetic nutes are easier to get down pat, a lot of tweeking is needed with organics imo.

Just a note on worm castings, I see a lot of people recommending it, i would be caution as it is incredibly fine media, to not clog up your mix with it. I wouldnt be adding more than 15% worm castings to a  mix

Agree with Frank re the worm castings. About 10 ltrs or less castings to 50 ltrs quality potting mix.Break up all the lumps first. Bunnings where I live stock it, a good nursery should have it in their stock. Bat guano is supposed to be the bee's knees of ferts if you can get it.
