Medical marijuana debate: NSW rules out approving cannabis for termina

Recommended Posts

I wonder how long it will be until the australian government can pull its head from deep within its ass.

When we do a citizens arrest and put them in prison. We need to find a relationship between drug companies and politicians, find the money trail, and organize a posse.Th

ere is simply no disincentive to be a corrupt or inept pollie. If you or I do a bad job, we get fired/sued. If they do a bad job, they get a pension. We need serious disincentives applied by the people directly.

Bottom line, it would reduce revenue for the opiate manufacturers. ' The needle and the damage done', Neil Young, the second verse is resonating through my brain right now.

The government wants the suffering in our community to know they are in pain. Sure, the opiates deal with the pain for a while, but after years of use, the patient then has to deal with the pain of withdrawal, which they are then prescribed a synthetic form of pain relief to help cope with, all at a monetary cost which both they, the Government, and the pharmaceutical companies benefit from.

You dont get that with raw cannabis. Yes, they are fully aware of the benefits to the suffering, but it just isnt as financially viable as the opiates. They wont see enough Deniro because there is no need to treat withdrawal, as there is two fifths of fuck all side effects associated with medicating with cannabis.

Those that are present are generally enjoyable to the patient, unlike the opiates, and nobody has died from ingesting cannabinoids alone, unlike their legal alternative. What government in it's right mind would want that for its people?.......Twats!

I don't like he way you're using words there mate (not being insulting).

Our society suffers from using the wrong words for things, and missing the big patterns.

You spoke about the government making money, and it not being good for them. Well teh job of the government is to govern the people and let the people get along well with each other/have a good life. The government isn't some private company looking to make a profit and all of that. So the idea that it is in any way "good" for the government to make money from the people in any way is utterly repugnant. That isn't a government, it is a captured government, or a fascist government, or a corporate government, or a mafia government. So call it what it is.

You also said that the government are twats. No they aren't. A twat is someone who is a bit of a dick and maybe a bit incompetent, in this context. What this is isn't being a twat - this is outright predatory behaviour, and a complete betrayal of the trust of the people perpetrated by those who are elected to lead the society.

I think it's time people grew up and called it for what it is. It's a corrupt, incompetent government that has failed the people, and certainly the patients. It's criminal imo.

No insult taken, were on the same side, just with different brains:-)

To be honest, I don't really care what the government thinks of cannabis as a medicine, those of us that do medicate with the herb, instead of the legal alternatives, do so because we, the patient and user, know what effects the substances we take have on our bodies and minds, and knowingly choose that which we believe to have less harm on our systems and offer a better quality of life for ourselves.

We also believe that a government, elected by its citizen's in a democratic voting system, have a duty of care to those citizens by allowing them freedom in choosing what substances enter their bodies in times of pain, illness and suffering. Herbal remedies are not new to western society, cannabis is a herbal remedie!
