Single plant in the balcony. Will it grow colas?

Hi stoners,

I got a plant from a friend and it is on my balcony for about 2 months, in a pot with soil, no lights, just sun. It has grown to about 50cm and it looks very healthy.

Also, I have been reading about growing and I understand this is far from ideal. Also, I have no expectations with a simple setup like this. However, it would be nice to be able at least one joint homegrown.

Is there any chance it will put some buds off?

Cheers,

If its outside, you will be waiting a while before it buds naturally as the days are getting longer.

If it doesn't die, and its not male, you will get bud if you can wait that long.

By that time you will definitely get more than 1 joint  :D

Plants need 12 hours dark / 12 hours light indoor to bud, when the days are short in winter its like the same thing.. Someone else could tell what month outdoor usually buds, I don't know exactly..

well they say plant on fathers day (somewhere at the start of sept - also start of spring technically)  harvest on mothers day 1-2 weeks into may (towards the end of autumn)

currently with longer days and shorter nights the plant is in a veg cycle (closer to the 18/6 indoor time) when the light cycle outside will start to sway to longer nights and shorter days the plant will start to flower (12/12 indoor time)

but depending on location in australia light times differ in perth there is about 14 1/2 hours which is enough for veg outdoors, you can also take into account the 2 hours of that civil twilight on either side of the day so that gives you the 18 hours 'light' (someone else mentioned this in another post - correct me here if im wrong)

you can find daylight charts on the internet floating around here is one for perth - http://members.iinet.net.au/~jacob/riseset.html

and i didnt see here are some for the other cities - http://members.iinet.net.au/~jacob/risesetaust.html

this will let you see exactly how many hours of light there is.

If you want I'm sure it's not optimal but you could force it to bud now manually just by taking the plant inside somewhere dark (wardrobe maybe) and putting it back out every 12 hrs so the plant thinks it's getting 12/12

So say 6am put on the balcony and at 6pm put in fully dark room and just repeat this.

Make sure the plant is in full darkness otherwise it may confuse the plants I've heard of even street lights messing up peoples flowering plants in the right season.
