No proof that the guy actually did........... and some media twats are all over it............... if people who knew him for 16-18 years didnt know he smoked cannabis, he probably didn't.

Just hearsay after a tragic accident smudging an obviously good balloonists reputation.

I'm with you Brick, media is just like the balloon, inflating a story that's nothing but hot air! Speculation is not an equivalent to truth, seems the sole purpose of the media is to destroy individuals integrity these days..................

So toxicology tests showed evidence of THC in his system (but not that he was actually under the influence), could have been from the night before, or longer depending on the test.  I personally find it hard to believe that an experienced professional pilot would be stupid enough to fly passengers while under the influence.  The fact that people that knew him had no idea also points to a person with their drug use well and truly under control.  The interesting thing about the story is the fact that no mention was made of the maintenance issues etc that were also found during the investigation.  As stated by others, the media going for sensationalism over facts with no regard for the consequences.

Name any profession and it will have drug users within it. When they slip up, is when most people become aware.

Not defending the media though, they usually have them hung, guilty or not before the truth comes out.

I am lucky not to have a job were you get tested, would never pass, THC would be bonded to my blood cells by now...........

Point Number 1.I'm with the concensus that the media are immature, ignorant, arrogant, self interested grubs that you wouldn't cross the street to piss on.... unless of course you could piss petrol...
