Best grow temps

Recommended Posts

A cheap humidifier or misting.

You could try one of these pond misters, will need to disable the LED's, cheap as chips... :greedy:

Do they work with HPS? I just checked my humidity and its low on 30% and 31C as it was hot today. Got some fans in there but cant keep the temp down to 24C

I was bored and reading an old maximum yield magazine (may/june 2013) and read an interesting article about VPD.

From what I understand of it is that the plant isn't looking for a specific temp or humidity, but rather the right combination of humidity and temperature.

eg, If your temps are high, you want low humidity and if the temps are low then higher humidity is needed to keep the plants happy.

That also means you can choose either to change your temps or you humidity to make your grow area the best environment. It also may affect when you would choose when you use your humidifier/dehumidifier if your temps fluctuate through the day and night.

I don't think its right to copy stuff from the article, but i'm sure it would be on the net somewhere, or another similar one.

Have a look, I found it very interesting.

Probably looking at an extra 200 bucks a bill to run the 600wer and fans etc. If ya can get away with it, would be ya best option. If not a cupboard with a 400w and a cooltube be best bet, bill will go up about 120-140 a bill. Or 3 x Philips 80w CFL's in same cupboard is only 240w, and they can flower plants.

Nibbler

Is that $200 per month or every 3 months?

I'm only a month away from throwing the switch and I'm a little worried about my 600 watt power consumption.

Agreed and from personal experience i think stability and regularity is desirable in all aspects of growing but especially when dealing with environmental conditions outside the "accepted norms".

Whilst you might not get the best results possible when your space is running too hot or cold at least you should still be able to get a result if the plants are used to it.

On the other hand fluctuating temperature and moisture levels can cause shock, stress and a whole host of new issues. Aim for the right numbers but dont chase em too hard if plants look happy.

peace
