DWC Bucket - First Timer - Dutchmaster - With Pics!

Hi Ozstoners!

First time poster, Long timer stoner,

I have just made my first DWC Bucket set up with a 54Litre Black Box, 3.75 Net Pots, A Fish tank dual pump and two 6 inch air stones.

All went pretty well but I am having trouble with using/chossing the nutes I bought. I could have even just bought wrong stuff altogther, but I'd really appreciated it if anyone could tell me if I can get away with the products I bought or if there is a way I can purchase something that would be suitable for the noob in me.

So what I bought, having pretty much a guess at it, was, Dutch Master Grow Part A + B and Dutch Master Gold Flowering (Single Solution)

The plants I am wanting to start up in the DWC are product of my noobness! Story is, I got some AK 47 Autos cause I wanted something small that would be stealth n small and also something that I thought would grow OK outside in Pots since its already almost summer (I now know just cause the seed banks tell you something, its not always true, they just wanna sell seeds and these are better suited to indoor n lots of light!, oops)

So these plants are now a month old but are only 4 inches high but getting more veg growth all the time. I ended up with 2 females. My problem is since these are autos and have remained v small due to the lack of light during veg, I am now not sure what nutes I need to be using - The Flowering or the Growing??? Is there a way for these to catch up now or I have I left it too late? :unknw:

Same with the Lights, Since they are so small I am reluctant to go with to 6500K CFL even thought I can see the first stages of buds appearing on the cola, even if they are micro buds!!!!

What are your thoughts? Can I use the Dutch Master stuff I got for DWC, If so should I go with the Grow or Flowering?? Same with lights, 2700K or 6500K??

I have attached a few of pics of the plants I took a few days ago so you can judge for yourself.

(I would also love to hear your thoughts on My current set up ** See Pics** which I have just started with in the past week or so too. Its a "Sungarden" Indoor grow system, comprising 40W Led lights, A water tray that uses a wicking system to wick the water from the tray into the soil above - Supposed to always be moist but never overwater, an adjustable Light height up to 3-4ft.... These a 2 min video on youtube if you wanna check it out... I have also supplemented the light with a 6500K 130w CFL.... Do you think this would be OK to get some little autos from seed to harvest??)

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks heaps, cant wait to learn more, MJ may not be addictive, but learning about it is! :twiddle:

PS: the 2nd pic was an accidental upload, it was a pic of some bugs getting high of my weed! I killed them. The white shit on the leaves is just PH test powder I couldnt get off.

Peace,

Psymon

u dont want water sitting in the catch tray, try letting the soil dry out more, u can dig a little hole to the side of the pot and see how moist the soil is

alternative is to repot into a better growing medium imo soil is the worse some will dissagree but ive never had any luck with bagged soil from bunnings

if u go this route goto bunnings and get a block of "coco" (coco with no nutrients) and a small bag of perlite mix the coco/perlite at 70/30% than just replant your seedling in the new mix

i havent been around here for a while or growing so im not sure what nutrients are out there but dutch master was a good nutrient to use several years ago when i was using it, the one part should be fine probably easiest to use for a beginner, the two part came in advance which was a great nutrient and i never got around to trying gold as it was just hitting the market

i dont think you have DWC (deep water culture) u just have a pot filled with soil?

Sorry to say this but you dont have a dwc setup by the looks of it.

By looks of it u are growing in soil with a dranage tray or a rez in the bottom of that setup u have.

And looking at the pic you mebium is a lil to wet.

Have a read through some of the diarys here and you will get an idea of a dwc setup.

Reading this I am having the same issue with nutrients. Where to start?! There's a million types that do a million things?! To say I'm confused is a understatement!

I'm ready to go with a DWC but always get stumped when buying nutes, many are upwards of 30 bucks plus and I really don't wanna blow 100 odd bucks on the wrong stuff.

Can anyone tell me where to start and what I need to get going!

Cheers.
