Drying outdoors

Recommended Posts

Basically what everyones said,

- Tarp/canopy hung up in a sheltered area

- Wires running underneath to hang the (trimmed!) buds from,

- Not too much vegetation underneath the canopy (want to avoid bugs and humidity)

- The smaller you cut down the colas, the better and quicker they will dry (avoid mold)

Dont give them too much more than a week or so, after that spiders just move in as does mold,

If its been windy they should be nice and crisp, if not give them some time in a container with rice and paper towel as a desiccant.

And yep good luck, used this technique a few times with good results!

Great feedback. I've been wondering about drying outdoors this year too. I have access to some hay sheds, these have no hay, except the waste on the ground. The buds would be hanging about three metres off the ground. The only thing I'm worried about are insects, do they pose a risk? These sheds are quite temperate and are open to the wind from one side, they seem to remain at a nice warm temperature all year round. Thanks.
