Best generic liquid fert for hydro?

What do or have you used?

 

I'm referring to stuff like Scotts Miracle-Gro, Amgrow Nitrosol, Seasol Powerfeed, Yates Uplift, etc.

AFAIk all the listed products are for soil. I've used all but the Miracle-Gro, but that's in soil.

If you're in coco, perlite, or any hydro medium, get proper made for that medium nutes.

You don't have to believe me, but I've been down the path and it's nothing but trouble and grief.

Bugger the Miracle Gro off. It's salt based iirc, which is bad for hydro.

I do use Seasol and Powerfeed in my coco, but that's is WITH coco specific nutes. The Seasol and Powerfeed is more to feed the good bugs in my medium rather than the plants themselves tho. They aren't a nutrient.

As Katt said you should use a dedicated hydroponic nutrient if you want to grow hydroponically.

 

You will be able to get a plant to survive without the proper nutrition but it won't be healthy or produce well.

 

Why would you not want to use a hydroponic nutrient? You won't save any money by giving the plant the wrong nutrition, there are plenty of cheap hydroponic nutrients.

Yeah, Seasol isn't actually a fertiliser, rather a soil conditioner. Powerfeed is fish emulsion, if I recall correctly, like Charlie Carp, so is a fert. It would proably go ok with coco, but I wouldn't use it for DWC.

yeah.Hi. atm ive got five small plants in a 2ltr bubble cloner using perlite in net small pots.. one satty is over a ft, and the lushxbb are half that, growth is green and

 

plentiful.. they got attacked by the dreaded whaite fly, but the Neem soon took charge.. temps have been low 30s and RH has been 75/85% already

 

these are clones i took from my last grow, the five smaller ones are revegeing since i took the cutting a bit late in flower..

 

since putting them in there ive fed them a combination off canna coco a+b and worm wee.. ph 5.5,-5.8 range EC 1.1-1.9

 

the plants seem happy enough, they are only getting light from a window and 18w flouro at night..  

 

this is probley not text book growing but its working for me.. these plant will eventually go into coco.. once ive treated it with cannazym..

just cruising round and found this thread, thought i would put my 2c worth in. i have 4 plants in bunnings coco that have had nothing but Miracle Gro  Flower/Bloom they have gone really well U can see them at

Plenty of ppl will poo hoo miracle gro  but seriously can'nt fault it so far

I feed them twice a day at about 1/2 strength    1 scoop to 9Lit tap water
