How do ya stop the dust getting in your buds?

Recommended Posts

do you mind if i ask why you moved there? whenever i travel to the country and get to areas like where you live, i can never fathom what on earth makes people stay there. it's so harsh and unforgiving. i love visiting places like that, but living...that's a different story.

how about using a pressure sprayer instead of a hose? you can get those ones meant for herbicides that are worn like packs.

Yeah it's a funny story because you couldn't get more of a city person than myself.  Basically I met a bloke in Adelaide who came from a farm in the Mallee.  He told me at the start he'd never go back to the farm which was very reassuring until his older brother walked out of the farming business and his parents would've had to sell it if my partner hadn't came back.

I thought I'd give it a try and he said it'd be a good place to raise kids.  Well it is because you can't get weed here [or not without everyone thinking you're a feral druggie!] and there's not too many bad influences.

I'm quite reconciled to it now - it actually has a lot of up sides.  But I probably whinge more than you're average local around here!  And if I won the lottery I'm sure we'd find somewhere a bit more coastal to live!

One of those spray packs is a great idea - I will try preventative, covering type measures first.  Although hopefully I'll have a monster that's too big to cover!!

Cheers.

Dust is natural, but most of us don't grow in places with dust storms. Not sure if you've ever been in a dust storm Goodchoof, but they are full on! The dust pervades everything, bags, electronics, eyes, clothes, cars. I imagine buds that have been subjected to a dust storm would put off most people. It might even prevent it from burning properly too? Is it more an aethetic issue Crowsange, or does it actually affect the quality of the buds?

no, not aesthetic issue, more about the taste and the quality of the bud and burn.  Now that you've asked, don't know that it'd affect the quality of the smoke, probably just the taste of dirt might be off-putting.  I've no experience with this 'cause I've not done an outdoor grow here before.
