im using a solis tek ballasts but i dont use the solistek lamps. i am running a 1000w sylvania HPS. i have been running syalvania lamps in many wattages for a long time and they are great. plus i have read tht the digital lamps arent quite up to scratch in the 1000w range. apparantly they excel in the 400 and 600 range though

Tough critic.... Have you had a response DIRECTLY from the manufacturer ?

Nothing from the manufacturer, I dont really want to cantact them. I heard somehting hear nad thought that was a bit strange esp Lumitek running Son-T not sure about other ballasts.

then running into that problem here, its just not worth the risk, I cant be vigilant of every fire of the ballast, I need to be able to trust that cetain things are just going to happen. So if something like that fails in a area after 3 months work then Im afraid being ruthless it the only recourse, they should notice an acute drop in sales wich should make tme look at thier product esp QC. If we didnt need to act like a pack of pirates then Im sure we could be more useful to the industry.

lol haze420  my 400 lumatek didn't fire the son-T again-over the w/end.  I don't think I will buy another for awhile cos I can't.  It shines great when it decides to shine though :good:

Peace. v :sun:

Yeah I cant just throw mine out either, I figured I'd put it onto a 24/7 light cycle and use up the bulb a bit. I've heard I can stick a 600W bulb into a 400W ballast without anyproblem, The bulb willl only put out 400W.

If this accurate?
