What is the average electric bill for 1-2 plants?

Recommended Posts

my 600w system costs 3.38 per day in Vege(18hr) on and about 2.25 per day in flower (12hrs) on ..   (710w in total) light ,ballast, fans.(circ, exhaust)

imo the calcuator in the cannaversity section has got a formula error..

i bought a plug in meter on ebay, only about 20 bucks.. gives you an exact read out of the appliances plugged into it....i plugged my Tv set up into it and it was 415w..  lol

http://www.handymath.com/cgi-bin/electric.cgi this calculator is pretty good.

hope this helps..

I'm a yank from Texas, so I'm not used to the cold weather yet.  Actually,i'm not used to not having central air/heating system.

Yes, it gets damn cold in winter in Tx, -10c sometimes and damn hot in summer 40c+.  in 2011 we got a meter of snow but all homes have central heating and cheap, cheap electricity.  Even in the winter with the heat full blast our monthly bill was about $60 bucks on average.

my first winter here we ran our electric heater and one months bill was 600 bones!

The calculator in Cannaversity works perfectly if you enter the correct figures.

I don't under stand why people care so much about how much power you use to grow our favourite plant either way it goin to be cheaper and better quality than buying it

i think its a budgeting thing stix.. people just like to have an idea of the bill thats coming.. i find its a noob thing.. once youve got a few grows under ya belt, the bill is expected.

I dont think its a weighing up whats cheaper growing or buying.. dealers wear gold chains and drive nice cars for good reason.. lol

Peace!

It would be a lot cheaper and more reliable and power outages would get back online quicker if it was not in the hands of private companies. I never liked privatisation of any public utilities. Transportation or power.

Can't wait for the carbon tax to go, just to see how much difference there was on my account.

how much for 1 or 2 plants?

I have seen 1 giant muther fucking room size plant suck down a fuckload of $$$ in electricity per day

so this is a how long is a piece of string question.

((think my 2 plant grow in winter cost me $3.65 per day during veg &  $2.43 per day during flower costing me ruffly $310 for the full cycle) or something like that)

I run 400w above 2 plants with 1 fan, hand watered. I have never weighed my yields or been blown away by my bill as I burn about a qtr oz a week and I don't have to rely on "getting on" any more. I know I am miles in front.

At worst I reckon $300 a qtr for me, I'm not sure what a humidifier would add but if you go through a similar amount or more of cannabis as me and you want a fuckin awesome hobbie then it's well worth the bigger power bill.

Jim.
