Is Buying HPS 400W lighting kits of eBay safe ?

EBay is a good, cheap place to get you started but the quality is usually of the Chinese standard... If you get hooked and in to it you can upgrade for more reputable products. 

I've personally had no probs ordering grow based products off EBay, I've not seen any cops hiding in the bushes in my street... and for one 400w setup, you're harder commercial. 

Give it a whirl fella.

I agree. I started out buying everything I needed from eBay. It was fast, cheap and easy. Never had any cops sniffing around.

Now I'm hooked on growing so I'm slowing upgrading piece by piece from a few dif hydro stores.

Give it a go. If they investigated everyone who bought grow equipment they would be run off their feet.

I would never buy hydro gear off eBay, that site is not you're friend when it comes to growing. Much better to go to your local hydro store and pay by cash. At least, that is what I do and will keep doing.

Have to say, what's stopping your hydro shop guy from taking your license plate down when you load your car and informing on you? You can say loss of business but who knows what they could get in return.

This is not at all advisable and slightly off subject.

I do buy a lot of grow gear, either from eBay or elsewhere on the web.

As mentioned before if they chased down everyone buying hydro gear the cops would be run off their feet.

They would need a dedicated unit just for that.

Not all hydro gear is used in illegal grows.

My partner feels the same way, and after talking to him about it I decided to have my grow diary taken down so as to allay his fears.

 

Having never grown before I more than understand his worries. Hell, "they" took down Silk Road after all....

I'm not all that worried TBH. I've been a member for 7 odd years and the only time I was busted is when I had a psychotic break.

Nothing to do with Oz Stoners. My Bipolar essentially decided it was time for a holiday in the nut house!

 

I think that if there is any risk of getting busted, it would come from buying shit online. You really do not know who you're dealing with.

But honestly, I think it's worth the risk.

 

I bought my parts a bit here and a bit there, and coz I didn't have enough funds my purchases were a little staggered too.

 

I'm not worried, but like Nancy said, if they investigated everyone, they'd be run off their feet.

They just don't have the man power or resources.

 

When I buy the parts for another drobe, and when I upgrade a few parts, I'll again be using eBay. My local hydro shop isn't very local.

The hydro/nursery shop I went to last year (a couple of hours drive) told me that if it wasn't for indoor growers, he would have had to close his doors during the last drought.

 

If you are going to use ebay, buy your stuff over a period of time and not all at once, no matter how much you are spending. One of our members was lagged in by ebay. Did time.
