Is Buying HPS 400W lighting kits of eBay safe ?

Hi,

 

I am about to start my very first grow and am looking to buy a 400W HPS lighting kit, I've looked on eBay and this seems to be the cheapest way to buy what I want, is this safe? Any suggestions on where I should buy a 400W HPS lighting kit ?

If you wish to be completly safe,buy from a hydro shop and pay with cash,having said that i ordered my grow tent and lighting from ebay,but got it sent to a different address from where i grow

EBay is a good, cheap place to get you started but the quality is usually of the Chinese standard... If you get hooked and in to it you can upgrade for more reputable products. 

I've personally had no probs ordering grow based products off EBay, I've not seen any cops hiding in the bushes in my street... and for one 400w setup, you're harder commercial. 

Give it a whirl fella.

i buy all my gear from ebay and i even import my stuff from the states so its relatively safe mate go for it

I am pretty sure someone on this site got busted due to an ebay supplier holding info (names, address, items purchased, CC details etc.), then the cops somehow getting hold of all that info. I think the company was called discount hydroponics, or DHS... hmm something like that.. beware getting it sent to grow address

A few members have been busted from this forum, the common link was they all purchased things from e-bay..

 

All purchases are logged on ebay and all payments as well

 

and if asked by LE the owner of the shop must hand over all purchase information

You can also pick up a pre paid credit card from the post office, then go onto their website and register for their parcel lockers. place your order and wait for oz post to email you the access code when your parcel is ready to be collected. You can then collect from the locker 24/7. Its a free service to which is a bonus. This way no one knows any of your personal details.

EBay is the way to go, but learn your brands because they are not all the same quality.

Well Im surprised so many people are doing the online thing! I personally prefer the cash and hydro shop back door option, i get the after sales service etc this way.

Ebay rocks,eapecially if ur on a tight budget.Watch out for exorbitant postage with some sellers.
