Its a little off topic, and definitely no disrespect to either of ya but I gotta call bullshit understanding if you think a higher percentage of Americans are receiving benefits, unemployment (welfare) or otherwise as opposed to Australians.  I do believe that the resource boom has given a way false picture of reality in Australia, and the media is painting that picture brighter-whether true or not. I would also add that Aussie statistics (any for that matter) are going to be released to show their originator in THE best possible light-this includes employment figures.  I would like to have one of the govt statisticians sit down and walk us right through how they arrived at their figures.  We would find some pretty dodgy stuff if they were honest-Sorry for going off topic but when I was in a bad way a couple of years back I could have chosen either country to live the rest of my life in and I chose Australia primarily because there were less people and that our social system in Australia showed way more compassion.  A HUGE plus.  This is changing proportionately to the systematic disintegration of family and community due to all forms of media both personal and public.  Question everything that the world does, in other words, we have too much faith in the world. We are becoming dead in Spirit.

Price has remained stable since 1991 but i agree the quality is shcoking atm. In melbourne there is a lot of indica dominant crap and a lot of that chinese shit. The first time i saw it was 2005 and it was horrible, even worst back then. I thought it was the vietnamise who were growing it and i called it vietbud.

 

Brown stringy and the textures is almost plastic like but hard. No trich production at all and when you spin it you end up with a bowl full of baccy lookign stash. Then smoking it..oh my fucken putrid shit..like smoking a baccy cone using the cheapest made baccy possible. It keep leaving that horrid baccy tatse in my throat.

 

Well thanks to the quality of melbourne pot 2 years ago i decided to start growing..and now 2 years later i am growing awesome strains that when i give them to my mates they beg me for more..i have even had folks offer me double for the shit i have grown..and really most of it is standard stuff you read on cannabis forums or what you see in seedbanks, but a lot of somkers in australia are not educated on pot at all.

 

Up until i started growing i too was ignorant, calling every fucken strain "hydro" and dismissing outdoor bud as simply "shit bush bud"

Quite funny, I remember in about 96 I became friends with a few Mexicans who couldn't stop telling me how good Melbourne pot was compared to Bris. So we started getting it posted up, and it was the ducks nuts. Now the tables have turned haha

Man the quality of pot in the mid 90s was so good and i would say that those mesicans were buying shit that was grown in adelaide. Damn there was some amazing buds coming out of Adelaide from around 97 up until around 2006.

 

I still remember when seeing a massive pot bust on the news that i was certain that the strain would be on the streets withing a week due to the cops keeping 1/4 of the bust to distribute. One year in 92 they busted shipments of yellow thai buddah and low and behold all you could buy for the nex couple fo moths was that, which thinking about it now it was a sativa based strain hence why we all used to smoke 2 cones and be tripped out for hours.

 

Now when i buy shit from melbourne i smoke it and i get so good damn bored, nothing is worst than buying a quart to come home and its that shitty indica that after 2 seshs you grow a massive tolerance and end up smokin the whole statsh in one day.
