Pain Relief Usage

DreamBandit

Question

Hi,

I am a Total Newbie when it comes to the Blessed Weed, (As the following post will indicate) and I am kinda embarrassed at the naivety of what I do/did know until lately (from my sons, and this Site).

I have recently been introduced to The benefits of "Medicinal Herbage", and do I find that it does have a marked effect in reducing pain levels, and I would really like to cut back on the large amount of Controlled Medication I am on, BUT, I have NO idea of what would be the best strain to try and replace some of the S8 Narcotic Meds I have to currently have to use..

I don't know if it is OK to put amounts or name of this type of medication in a post, so for now, until I know better all I will say is I have been told by a Dr that IF they took ONE dose of what I take 4-5 times a day, it would be fatal to them, (I have been on these Meds 5 +/- years, slowly increasing over that time, so that i can tolerate what i am prescribed).. (IF anyone needs that info to help  give me the info I am chasing please private message me).

So, does ANYONE have experience/knowledge of WHAT would be worth trying or if there is an Anecdotal Formula to work this out.. I would be extremely grateful because people that are in the Loop have remarked that i do not appear to be so tired and lethargic AFTER a day or two of Replacement Medication ;)  ;)

Thanks in Advance for ANY Info on the above..

DreamBandit.

I also need some advice on strains for pain relief, specifically back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, numb arms and shoulders.  Also, need to deal with anxiety and really bad insomnia.

I have to cut back on the pharmaceuticals that I'm on like baclofen, panadine forte, ambien and Valium.  I have been falling down lately due to dizziness and weakness in the legs from all the muscle relaxers and can't find a steady supply of God's green natural meds.

have you tried medijuana? i've been smoking this strain for several years already to get relief from the throbbing pain caused by migraine. 100% all natural pain relief. i highly recommend this for medical cannabis users like me

Still looking for a Fem Auto-flowering strain with high CBD and also high THC, any recommendations?  Someone else said White Widow once but can't remember what thread.

heya Schmeggy =) , a few of the guys here used to call pineapple Chunk, pineapple Thunk, because if ya let it go longer to about 75-85 days, it would put you in a coma. lol Its not an auto, sorry I don't grow autos.

Was great for the anxiety, and to help ya relax in general.

I think theres some basic rules ya need to remember when looking for strains for med use.....

1) CBD ratio....... anything below 1.5% Isn't really going help that much.

2)THC ratio...... IMO higher the better. You want to smoke less for more effect. But this is only good if the breeder actually has the testing done.

3) When growing the strain, the longer you let the trichomes mature, the better the strain is for sleep, and that bombed out relaxation. (Mostly Amber)

If you need a more uplifting high, harvest when Trichomes are mostly clear to 50% clear-50%cloudy.

4) Match the strains to the symptoms...... Heavy Indicas for Anxiety, Sleep problems. More Sativa to lift ya spirits and get ya motivated. Sativa's don't have to be high in THC to rock your world either, it's the effect.

5) DONT believe all the hype on med strains...... a lot of them are shit grown in the states by people who don't have a clue, in it for the $$$.

Although, this is changing slowly, and for the better.

6) Don't be afraid to experiment, only you can know what works best for you.

7) Growing Multiple strain grows increases the chances of finding your suited medication.

8) If you can try and get a daytime smoko you can function and a night time smoko to help you sleep.

Theres a lot more to it than that, but that should get anyone looking at Cannabis as medication off to a great start.

Here is a list of high CBD strains that I came across in my strain searches.

You can sort them out by using the filter supplied.

Hope it helps in your search....... :greedy:

Sorry to hear your terminal DreamBandit. 100% of patients with my disease are dead within 3 years of diagnosis. That was over 12 years ago. Because I thought I was DYING, I allowed my consumption of S8's to get out of hand. Over 500mgs a day of morphine. Not good. After a couple of years, I woke up to myself & am now on a maintenance dose of 50mgs a day after much effort.

Don't give in. Research 'Dr Royal Rife' & his theories. His 'machine' can be bought for under $500. Years ago you couldn't get one for under a few thousand.

Google 'Dandelion root powder cancer tutor'. It doesn't just work for cancer.

To answer your question. I use mj for nerve pain in particular. I like the effects of pot so I have a bong every couple of hours :) I found that for nerve pain I need a 'dose' or 2 everyday for relief. I suspect that cbd is what's most effective because indica strains & hash works the best.

So as already advised, start growing something, anything you can get your hands on until you can order & grow particular strains. Don't worry about ordering seeds from o'seas. I've had 3 pass through now. Just pay the extra for stealth & insurance. Order both an indica dominant & a sativa dominant that are described as 'medicinal', grow them, smoke them & you'll know for sure. I suspect that, like me, you'll find that both help in their own way. One to lift your mood & make you laugh [sativa] & the indica to give real pain relief & as a sleep aid. Learn to make oil from leaf & scrap & you'll have a heavy hitter if & when needed.

I make hash so I tend to grow pot which is predominantly for a head high. Buds my daytime medicine, hash my night-time.

Don't be embarrassed to ask anything DreamBandit, we all had to ask at some point or we wouldn't know ourselves :)

Edit.  Sorry, didn't read the other posts. What everyone is saying about cbd is correct, it's what I suspected. Mate I just looked at that link provided by Budding. Shit 5% + cbd? Mate that's heaps. If your more interested in the medical value than the high then these you'll love these types of strains. There's a few seed breeders with strains containing  high levels of cbd I've noticed recently.

Has anyone smoked one of these high cbd strains with equal thc- like 6% thc ,6% cbd? What was the effect?

Thanks to everyone who is helping Dreambandit and myself.  Hope most of this info helps out Dreambandit in his situation.  Prayers going out to you, brother.

I went with 3x Auto Jack Fems and 2x Dutch Passion Blueberry Auto Fems as a first grow to get a stash in fast and my 2nd grow will be a proper one while my auto stash lasts me.
