very interesting but i guess it depends on the individual. in some, it's been attributed to bringing on schizophrenia. those people are supposed to have a natural predisposition towards it whereas others may respond in a more positive way. genes and environment are everything.

strains with higher ratio of thc to cbd can only help bring an early onset of schizophrenia... it cannot cause schizophrenia in people.

That's right Health Adv.

I used to smoke large amounts of cannabis as a youngster, namely sativa, usually in the form of hashish. Is wasn't until I started cutting down my use that I developed psychosis and what is now schitsoaffective disorder. I've been warned to stay away from cannabis by my doctor in order to make a full recovery. I have on occasion smoked despite my doctors disapproval and generally become very paranoid, when normally i'm fine. In theory high CBD strains and namely indicas would be the best type of cannabis to injest in my situation but absence is still something I maintain 98% of the time.

My doctor plans to take me off my medication completely in 4 years time with a reduction in 2 years time as I make a full recovery. I plan to do what I can to keep away from smoking cannabis as i'm normal without it.

That being said. If CBD becomes a legal and medically recognised form of treatment for psycotic illness, I would hapily substitute the crap i'm on now for a side-effect free and natural form of medicine.
