7 Day old seedling, only 1 set of leaves, advice?

Recommended Posts

The one on the right is looking OK the one on the left may be dying bit hard to tell just yet.

What sort of Coco are you using?

What is the lowest and highest temp at plant level?

If it's the Brick type Coco you will need to flush the shit out of it with Nutes on board.

Unless you are growing in the bush and have trouble getting to feed them I would use

100% Coco. If you really want to add anything to the Coco use Worm Casting's @ 30%

Read the link in my Signature for recommended growing.

It's to suit Auto's but it will give you a good idea to kick off with.

Hey hey guys, thanks for all the advice. Sorry about the late reply buzzo, I have been trying to sort my camera out and didn't think it was worth posting an update until I had some decent photos. Got that all sorted now so without further ado:-

In reply to your question, temps now stay between 21 - 30 deg. I have replaced the 130w cfl with 400w HPS. Temps are probably a bit too hot with lights on so I'm working on getting a better intake fan or something like that. Im using Canna Coco from my local hydro store so should be no problem with purity.

All concerns about the Bubble Yum seedling proved to be true as it has passed away sadly.. Not sure exactly why (apart from inexperience) but I think it may have had something to do with when the seedling first pushed through ground I still had clingwrap around it for humidity and it grew up into it, probably stressing it out way to much in that early stage..

The other seedling, Silver LA that I also received as a free seed has been a lot more successful so far. Anyway, thought i'd share the photos to see what you guys thought. Both plants are Silver LA now, The bigger one is just over 3 weeks old and the other is just about 2 weeks.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated. I think they were both hungry for a feed just the last day, so I'm hoping that's why they are drooping a bit. Hopefully they will perk back up once lights come on.

Hey cheers mate, good to know i'm getting somewhere this time. Looking forward to hopefully bringing this one into womanhood!

Its around 80-20 % Coco/Perlite with a layer of clay balls at the bottom. I just moved the EC today up from 1.2 to 1.4, would that be enough of an increase you think?

I definitely wouldn't have thought that I would have to re pot that plant any time soon infact I was hoping to finish in it, but now that you've mentioned it I can see a root poking out of the hole at the bottom. How much bigger do you think I will need to go? 2M high tent but there's a bit of stuff in there restricting height a little.

Other thing I was worried about was last time I changed nutes I added some calmag but Im already using a rhizo type product which already has calcium and magnesium in it, is there such thing over feeding certain minerals?

80% 20% is fine

E.C. @ 1.4 still a little low 1.5 to 1.6 particularly for the top right plant.

Pot size depends on the type of plant. I forget what it is you are growing now, but at least 5 liter pot or more.

5 liters is only just big enough for my AK47 auto and she is 2 foot tall and bushy.

Yes you can overdue additives...When you say you are using a Rhizo product what is it?

Humidity domes are really only necessary for clones. I always get a fan onto them very early to force better stems.

You're dosing that tiny 4 leaf plant with 1.4 ec?

Most full grown plants only ever need 1.8 you know....

yep...just because she is a baby doesn't mean you can't feed it up.

I fed my Bubblegum Auto up @ 1.5 E.C. at day 5...Thats a little on the heavy side for a 5 day plant

but I'm using the same nutes on my other well established grow, and they will take it with no signs of burn.

Depends on the strain.

Take a look at that top right hand plant @ 1.2 E.C.......she wants more food

Basically any 2 week old plant will love 1.5 E.C. with the exception of Blueberry
