CLONING HELP?

Recommended Posts

Cloning is really straight forward. I just cut the tops of the my plants dip them in clonex, wack them in a jiffy peat pellet and put them on a tray of water under my t5 fluro. When I see roots coming out of the jiffy I wack them in a 2 litre coke bottle hempy style with perlite. It's really not rocket science. Just some strains will develop roots quicker and better then others.  I have found that using some nutes with fresh water every second day helps develop roots faster.

You can even just put your cuttings in a cup of water or clone wool. I find peat pellets holds a good level of moisture when the tray becomes empty and I can get peat pellets easily. So far I have had 100% success clone rate with all different cuttings. I do this when I top my plants.

About topping plants, what does this help in achieving?

With my small indica strains i use 10litre buckets. I can get 9 cola branches from one plant. Topping stops the development of just having one main cola that would normally grow and increases yeild with smaller plant numbers. I could have 8 plants in coke bottles but can get similar results with one plant topped twice in a 10litre bucket. I like to keep my plant count down as I have clones. You can have 4 buckets and get a good yeild. I fill in the gaps with the 2 litre bottles with single colas. I also fim once topped.

I know one guy on another forum that can do 100 plants in 2 litre bottles on one table using a 600 watt raptor hps on a mover. The focus to just to grow fat single colas as fast as possible without wasting time on plant size branches leaves. Aero clones are used for doing this kind of technique.

Hey Java, Ive cloned my grows using a DWC Bubbler System, using weak nutes(worm tea) Ph 6 @ .6 EC..

Its best to take cuttings from a Vegeing Plant, and i normally take older woodier cuttings from the bottom of the plant, ive had more success rooting these..

Tip, take cuttings and put straight in water, stops any air getting in the freshly cut stem, i also find spliting the stem with a sharp clean blade, helps roots form, (increases surface area of the cutting) hence more roots..

the cutting will need more than 12 hrs of light to stay Vegging..

when roots are formed pot up in your medium of choice.

Good luck with it all, hope this helps..

and no problem cloneing clones, just wait till the clone has matured into a mum, then go for it..

Vape4life!!

Peace!!

When cutting the clones off the plant cut on a 45 degree angle exposing the cumber. Then have some lukewarm water with tiny amount of nutes in it straight after being cut put in the glass of water kills any bacteria on them then you pour some clonex in the lid not contaminating the rest of the clonex what ever is left over throw away. Place in what ever medium ur using under small cfl or fluros
