Man 'gave Advice' On Drug Crop

Recommended Posts

ONE of 16 men charged over a $45 million cannabis seizure was allegedly caught on phone taps giving advice about cultivating the drug, a court was told yesterday.

Demitrios Hantzis, a 38-year-old Sydney building contractor, appeared in Parramatta Bail Court after he was charged on Thursday with several drug offences.

Prosecutors allege he was caught on phone taps offering advice on harvesting, cultivating and caring for the cannabis at the property at Narrabri, western NSW, where most of the 3.2 tonnes of the drug was found.

The court also was told his parents lived on the property.

Hantzis was arrested at his home in Connells Point, Sydney, after police obtained a search warrant and allegedly found 10kg of cannabis.

He was refused bail and will appear in court next week.

The other 15 people charged over the seizure appeared briefly in Moree Local Court where they were all refused bail. They will reappear on Tuesday.

What a dickhead. I don't talk about pot on the phone even if its a couple of grams in a bowl to be shared among mates. Its just a rule I follow. Basic commonsense I thought. Telstra employees routinely listen in on calls. You never know who might be eaves dropping. Wires cross occasionally. He grew lots of buds but very few brain cells I think.

That must have been quite a harvest. If the cops estimated it at 45 million then it must have been worth atleast a thousand dollars in real money.

Wow, I saw this report on TV and YES it was a big crop ... I don't know what charge the phone adviser is on but he sounds like the principal of the op IMHO, folks place, bunch of mates (?) to help.

I talk about cannabis on the phone but in political terms and general discussion, medical stuff ... but never organizing purchases.

It has crossed my mind, Am I breaking any laws by advising people of the medical uses of cannabis on the phone? or indeed, giving this advice at anytime? anyone know about this? Could be a bit of a worry.

I think you can relax Brash. When he talked about dope on the phone he was acting as an advisery to fellow growers at a site he was involved in. He gave away the address from what I could gather. Thats why him and his buddies were busted. The Prick.

It was a big haul wasn't it. I saw it too. Makeshift shelves piled high with the shit. That was the most I've ever seen drying out. I'm surprised the cops in their infinite wisdom didn't estimate its value at around a billion trillion dollars. In accordance with their "potential" method of calculations. For seeded heads counting each seed as a fully grown plant. That kind of jazz.

Maybe they decided that a figure amounting to several times the earths gross domestic product might prove a tad unbelievable and so dispensed with their usual fleximath. Instead opting for a guesstimate figure roughly within the realms of reality. lol

if advice was illegal we are a probably australias biggest organised crime syndacite. If your advice was to point a gun at sumone and yell "smoke dope or I'll fucking kill you!!" its more illegal I'd guess. But your safe dude, they woulda done you for that if they could already.

It was a pretty big haul, but NSW state totals are only just at 147000 plants for the season I read, equivelant of the one collombeally crop in the mafia days. its all a piss in the ocean really, australia keeps smoking more and more dope every year, and its all domestic these days but the amount of hauls dont relate with that. Cops just dont care that much anymore, take out the large growers who dont give them fat enuf bribes, to keep attention off those that do. But its hardly a dent in the market.

these cunts needs to get its shit together like the chinese, Mr Hatzis sounds greek, he should've employed greek workers on his farm and spoke in greek, Pigs are too lazy and the government is too cheap to hire translators to listen in on phonetaps or get involved in undercover ops with people who dont speak english.

He gave away the address from what I could gather.

or the pigs coulda just traced the number he dialled to his crop. lol

Anyway, this should be good inspiration for all those whose parents dont know they smoke or grow, when they complain you can say "oh but mummy, Demitrios Hatzis's mum and dad let him grow 3.2 tonnes on their own land"

Not much of an argument really.

I thought I read that the parents have been remanded in custody along with the principal (their son).

Daddy can I go 3.2 tonnes of buds and can we go to jail together?

Sure son we havent had a family holiday together for some time!!!

Just kidding lol

As a rule you shouldnt discuss growing over the phone. I had it for many years and friends always laughed at me but I never got caught where as some people did and do!!

I would get some legal advice about talking about cannabis for medicinal purposes if it included advice about growing and especially if you participating in the grow!
