Oxalyc Acid - CO2 crystals

Recommended Posts

When I started growing I bought this stupid electro CO2 thing, anyway when I bought it I was told it was cheap to run, anyway I used it for a growth cycle and half of flowering and then the crystals ran out so I went to Bunnings warehouse and they didn't know what I was talking about, so I went to the local hydro store and they had a little kilo container of the shit for $40 or sumthing, anyhoo I cant pay $40 for 6 weeks or whatever, could I get it from a science lab? I haven't used it for 3 years now.

cheers -wc

hey white cluster, you been working for 3 years without co2, you been doing ok anyways?? :P if you want cheap co2, get a 20ltr drum(from the back of a restaruant or something, needs an airtight lid), put a 1/2" hole in the lid and stuff a piece of garden hose into the top about 2". what you gotta do here is put the drum near the growroom, the garden hose runs from the drum into the top of the room and hangs down a bit see...that is your co2 kit! now...put about 12-14ltr water into the bucket, boil up 5ltr water, add 8 cups of sugar and re boil. tip into bucket with 1 packet of bakers yeast, give it a good stir and let it stand for about 15 minutes(easy if youre next to the room, gives you something to look at). chuck the lid on properly and the magic begins... should give off co2 for about 2weeks or so. :D i found all the boilin-an-tippin to be a bit much for such little return so now i have two co2 kits :( , i brew my own beerright next to the growarea!!! its friggin grouse, watchin the day go by with homegrown beer and pot, mate...

I was asking a hydro salesman about bottles & regulators, I wasn't really interested in buying, just curious. He said here, this is all you need, and he gave me a tub of "CO2 Enricha" for free to try out. I think you just add it to water. Haven't tried it yet so don't know if its worth it.

Not sure if this is gong to help, but Im posting it anyway..

CO2 Enricha at www.hydroponicsupplies.com.au

Quote from their webpage :

Carbon dioxide (CO2) enrichment is well known as a proven method of significantly increasing the growth rate of any green plant. Now you can make your own pure Co2 gas for enrichment with safe, easy, effective and instant CO2 ENRICHA. Just add CO2 ENRICHA crystals to ordinary water to release CO2 gas.....its that simple. Use CO2 ENRICHA to produce 1300mls CO2 gas per 30ml dose. Boost your CO2 levels by over 400% to reach and maintain optimum CO2 levels (1600ppm) for accelerated plant growth rates as high as 30% above normal.

Unforunatly I cannot give you a price of it..

Cheers

g'day; simplegrow hydroponics in wetherill park sell oxalyc acid, i hear it works well.

do these guys do mail-order??

it worked good, real hard to sync timers, and can't use it in summer because my grow needs constant venting then. But in the 6 weeks or so I had it on, I grew the biggest bud I ever grew indoors, and this was way back when. Got eaten by that boytris/grey mould shit though.

It would be real good for little Stealthy grows, but it pollutes like crazy, same as commercial CO2 generators, it also makes hydrogen, which you need to vent outside, so if you ever see anyone with tube coming out of their window attached to the gutter, go have a smoke with em.

And homebrewing isn't my thing, I don't drink, but I know that growing mushrooms produces CO2, do you reckon they'd make enough to enrich my room? I worry a bit about mould with the fermentation idea though.
