coco troubles/nutes

Recommended Posts

Hey guys just gathering some info on mediums as I am gonna grow a outdoor crop later on this year.
My question i like the sound of coco coir but should i add perlite and maybe peat moss to my medium as well?
maybe 60/20/20 I'm new to this so any info would be great!
also will dutch master nutes work well with this setup? or do i need coco nutes
I got a couple cfl's for the seedlings. I'm gonna grow them indoors for probably a month then take them outdoors
is the best time late august start of sept (in melbourne)?
when im moving outdoors from indoor cfl's i read i should harden off the plants..so just give them a few hours a day outside for the first week?
thanks guys! :greedy:

Make sure the nutrients are coco specific, add perlite as desired, don't use peat (it's not needed, it increases acidity as it decomposes and it's not an environmentally sound product) oh, and don't recirc nutrient solution (run-to-waste).

yeh cheers!  I'm going for NF coco nutes I think..can you do the exact same medium minus nutes for seedlings? aka perlite and coco? im keen as anything to start but its too early to start under cfl's then outdoors I think.. is it aug/sept to start outdoors roughly?

I have been looking at this site for my info http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/astronomy.html?n=47&month=9&year=2013&obj=sun&afl=-11&day=1 You could get going though  under the cfl now. veg em, tip em, learn about what they like and don't.  But not with exie beans though :D

Did you check out Louise and 'Nibs tutorials- they got me pointed in the correct direction many times.  Oh, wanted to mention that this grow I'm using the NF coco nutes and a few additives-as well as their coco blocks.  No probs.

Peace to you and good growing! v :sun:

Gday mate

Ive been cracking my beans late August and putting them in a greenhouse and then planting them in the ground the end of September

I then look too harvest on the full moon at easter

That will give you a 7 month old plant

That's in Melbourne

Some of my mates try too push their plants into May but mould always has  its way once you get deep into April

Cheers
