Nutrients For Seedlings

Hello All,

 

I've got some bronzewhaler f3 seedlings growing in rockwool and expanded clay. In the past I've used Miracle Grow until the seedlings have a got a few sets of leaves and then switched to Canna for both Veg and Flowering.

 

Does this sound right? Or should I start on the Canna straight away?

I would use the Canna at quarter strength at new seedling stage, go to half strength when they get a little bigger and have them on full strength at 3 - 4 nodes, if they show signs of nutrient burn at any stage (leaf tips going brown) then weaken the nutrient concentration.

Yeah, seedlings need very little nutrients, even in hydroponic systems with no nutrients available.

 

1/5th is usually where I start, moving up weekly if they need it.

 

Remember, it's far, far better to under rather than over fertilise.

 

I'd use the canna all the way through, don't bother with the MG, it's not designed for MJ and won't give you the best results, as it's also not designed for hydro.
