seeds dont do anything

Recommended Posts

hello I am fairly new to this site, and have read threw most of the information on seed gemming and planting in soil.

my problem is that a friend gave me 15 seeds he has acquired over the last 3 years, he planted 4 straight into soil outdoors and in 1 week he had a 3 little plants.

1.I have tried plain planting in soil nothing after 1 and a half weeks.

2, tried paper towel in a zippy bag followed everything it says on here and nothing. they didn't germ and when I cracked a few open they were milky white inside and had  soft kind of middle.

3. I also tried leaving a few in water on a window sill left them there for 1 week and nothing still.

I have the seeds in my cupboard with 2 25 w daylight 65000k cfls. about 2 inch away from the soil. it is warming the soil but not making it hot.

I have no idea why this wont work.

every time I have done a outside grow I have no problems. and no I am trying indoors its not going well. cant even get a seed to sprout. (pretty sad hey)

so if any one can help please give some advice I have 5 seeds left. yesterday I planted 2 straight into soil after soaking for 12 hrs. and one in soil out of the bag. no soaking or attempts at germin.

and ty in advance to any one who can help. me get some going.

well I am stumped. maybe I just am not meant to grow indoors which sucks.

I have 2 grow storage containers 55l clear. I am using only one with no lid. 2 cfls at 25 what each daylight 64000k or 65000k and some seedling soil I got from big W that is meant for seedlings that need drainage and should work well.

I was going to purchase seeds from a seed bank, am am glad I didn't as if I had this problem with them it would be a mega waste of cash.

Maybe try some rock wool cubes to start the seed soak cube in tap water with some seasol then remove roughly 2/3rds of water weight gently squeezing or flickin motion too wet can cause rot just after germination. Plant seed 5mm below surface place cubes on a bed of perlite or not directly on container bottom aiding drainage. No need for your light to be so close 15cm from cube will do heat and too wet can be a problem increasing any bacteria if not totally sterile ending in rot in seed or just after germ.

That's a simple method if u get moisture right. Should have healthy seedlings up in 3 to 7 days fresh seed being faster. Btw try a diff batch of seed at same time incase its a seed prob is rare but have had low germ or no germ with older old mother sativa beans that did nill rotted after ten days.

Good luck just hope there is a usable tip you can use in my very basic advice. Pm me if u need a step by step ph and ec for the soak using canna range of fert and additives for germ and then the first week or two feeding in either rock wool or coco.

ok cool. I planted 3 new ones yesterday, if this doesn't do anything then I will def. be trying how u said to thc24 I am thinking its the seeds. because I have never had this problem before and seeds I have throw into dirt 99% of the time popped.

might go get some perlite and Rockwool on Monday.

I also moved my lights further away as I think it was drying up the top of the soil but leaving the bottom half wet.
