Fast bud autoflowering strain not finishing

Recommended Posts

Indoor/Outdoor: indoor
Growing Medium: soil
Growing Style:
Watering/Feeding Frequency: once a day
Nutrient Strength (PPM/EC): very low
PH Levels: seems neutral
Temperature/Humidity Levels: around 30 degrees celsius/humidity is low
Air Flow/Fans etc.: none
Lighting Type (CFL/HPS/MH etc.):  HPS
Total Wattage: 250
Growth Stage: flowering
Plants Age: 10 weeks
Cannabis Strain: fast bud auto

My fast bud auto is on it's 10 week from seed and 6 weeks from when the first pistils were observed. I did stress the plant a bit . Some nute burn, magnesium deficiency and i'm pretty sure some heat stress as well . My question is could these things have caused a stunt in flowering because i took a sample bud from one of the top colas and it did give a nice enough head high but no couchlock effect at all. I want a combination of both so i just wanted to ask : Should i wait a week or two to get that stoned effect ? The fast buds were supposed to be finished in abt 8 weeks and mine are at 10 and it seems it will take longer. Also they're not as frosty as they look on other fast bud grow journals :(

Pictures are a great help as visual indicators are alot when growing, but can I ask how accurate some of the details of your grow are?

My concern is that you're in flowering stage with a HPS bulb and no cooling? and by what measure is the PH neutral or the EC low? Just I've found EC for example is something guesswork doesn't apply too much with my tapwater has an EC of 1.0 so any added nutrients adds to your EC count fast. Plus you're using soil for an indoor grow and watering daily, what nutrients are you using and what medium where they designed for? I'm wondering if your soil is retaining more nutes then you think, also if you're expecting to harvest soon you should be feeding with clean PH balanced water only.

Cheers, good luck on the grow! Welcome to OS

I didn't have enough money to buy a ph meter but at the moment ph is around 7 but not more. I checked it with the vinegar and baking soda test and it didn't fuss with neither of those 2 so i just assumed the ph is neutral as i don't see any deficiencies other than magnesium and well some nitrogen but that's cool for late flowering i guess. I treated the magnesium deficiency with some magnesium sulphate foliar feeding. I know that with HPS ventilation is a must, but again did not have money to buy that either . the plants don't look terrible but the delay in flowering is killing me . and i don't have a fu...ing 40-60x scope to check trichs so i just go by some samples of buds i am taking.hope i will get a jewelers loupe soon from a friend , i asked him to borrow one for me but until then i'm stuck in this awful situation. Any tips and advices will be welcome as even if i mess up this first grow i will know what i can do better for the next one. Thanks in advance guys.

I use Bio Bloom from BioBizz 2-7-4 . And i don't use much . some 6 ml per 2 gallons at the most. I did some overferting in the beggining so i just used less now. I have to water daily because it gets hot inside and watering once in 2-3 days is not an option for me. Again i did smoke some buds and it does have a nice scent to it and it's not harsh at all even though i'm not flushing. I wish i had all those humidity,EC and PH devices but i don't :(

Hi and welcome to OS.

Bit hard to tell as the pics are out of focus, but it looks and sounds a bit immature in some ways, but probably pretty close.  Keep an eye on things and hopefully you can get a feeling as to when she's ready, getting a loupe to look with will help.  She seems to be sucking the sugars out of the shade leaves so should be close unless it's a deficiency

There's a few guys here who are better qualified to give advice on autos, but I can tell you a couple of things.  Firstly, take the seedbanks flowering time with a grain of salt, especially if things during the grow aren't ideal, a few weeks over is not unusual.  Secondly they don't deal with stresses or inadequacies overly well.  Thirdly they like a good light medium like coco or perlite, or DWC, better than soil.

Have you been giving 18-20hrs/day of light, less than this can affect flowering time and yields.  Also, looks like you may have been tipping/pruning during the grow, if so this is probably not ideal for autos as they don't have the time to recover properly.

Good luck, and I'm sure an expert will be along with better advice soon.  Try to use this grow as a learning experience for future grows.

well i just took some buds of the second plant as they were kind of burned and no further growth. the only leaves that were pruned were 80 to 100 % yellow. i know they're autos and don't have much time to recover. 24 lights on from start to finish is what i intend. i wanted to try and sit them for a cpl of hrs a day on the window sill as the temperatures are a bit lower there than in the closet. I mean i know i'll not have alot of yield but i still try to get the best quality i can. next grow i will have a ph tester and ventilation so hopefully it will be better and since i am growing with 24 hrs on all the time i might stick a Moby Dick in there as well with my other autos . My next grow should be either only fast buds or some fast buds and an Auto Biodiesel Mass and of course the Moby Dick :)
