I've never tried the synthetic stuff, but I would have thought that anything synthetic would need to pass the Therapeutic Goods Administration first?  I am against banning anything just because a small number of people misused it, but at the same time something that is synthetic should be tested properly before being allowed for sale (regulated).

 

If it's just a herbal mix then we should be careful about getting herbs banned as they are naturally occurring and can be used in food, herbal medicine and aromatherapy.

 

I do think this stuff is giving real cannabis a bad rap though which it doesn't need.

 

Simple solution is to legalise real cannabis and then people won't be looking for a copycat synthetic!  But that's obvious to all of you already

Heya Lifestylez =), Mate, the synthetics are sold as 'Incense', 'Bathsalts'.... etc, etc..... That way they don't have to have it tested by TGA... at all........... Always labelled " Not for Human Consumption" .............  so they can skirt around the laws.

 

And yeah, all it does is lob cannabis into the same shit fight because they call a lot of it "synthetic cannabis"...... even giving it strain names to make it more appealing........

 

If someone starts a group to hunt down the manufacturers of this crap........ drop me a line.......

This synth crap is crazy, im amazed how people compare it to real stuff..

Ive tried a couple types and gave me the giggles but the morning fuzzies is a chemical hangover....just not right!

I hope they get legalised.  If they get legalised it will really pave the way to cannabis becoming legal too.  After all, if synthetic cannabinoids are deemed safe and legal it will only be a matter of time before naturally occurring ones are too and then its game on

I would have to disagree we already have synthetic versions of cannabis in pill form for cancer/chemo sufferers.

 

Sativex- an extract of cannabis administered as a sublingual spray, been a prover in Canada, UK, New Zealand other European countries.

 

Marinol- is for weight loss symptoms in chemo patients.

 

Also two others Canasol and Nabilone.

 

If we have been using these synthetic pills which are very similar to the properties in a cannabis plant except being man made, which can be controlled to make a lot of money. Cannabis being a natural plant cannot be patent and not controlled as much.

If they legalise synthetic cannabis they would say why legalise the good stuff you have some thing quiet similar already IMO

Just thought I'd throw my two cents in

 

The reason their pushing for legalization on synthetics over the real stuff is that you cant put a patent on nature. To this end all pharmaceutical companies and bio engineering companies like Monsanto will synthesis anything beneficial to us that is naturally occurring and mess with its DNA structure so they can patent it, copyright it, then make you pay through the teeth to purchase it. GMO's will be the death of all that's good and beneficial in our food, not to mention the damage and contamination to the natural seed banks

 

One thing I've learned since working in the conservation/horticultural industry is not to fuck with mother nature, it comes back to bite us every time.

 

My old next door neighbour works in one the big mines out my way and was constantly getting drug tests. To ensure he wouldn't lose his job he started using the synthetic shit, big mistake. After about 2mths of using it fairly regularly it built up in his system the side effects that hit him were insane. Apart from the fact it drastically changed his personality and demeanour, It nearly killed him. He fainted at the wheel of his water carting truck at the top of any open cut mine. Luckily his foot slipped of the accelerator and it stalled before he went over the edge.  For nearly a month after he was dizzy and uncoordinated and the only thing his doctor could put it down to was the synthetic weed highs he was partaking in.

 

I urge anyone who is using this stuff to be very aware of even little changes in you personality, coordination or you general day to day moods and would like to hear from anyone who has had good interactions with this man made crap.

 

I'm sure I don't need to tell you guys that cannabis is a miracle plant. A gift from mother nature, with the potential to completely revolutionise the pharmaceutical industry. Until we get a governmental system that has us the peoples best interest at the fore front of there law making, we will all suffer.
