I personally think that 135 dispensaries is too many for one city. 12 large despensaries, (1 in the north, 1 in the north west, 1 in the north east so on and so forth), would be sufficient in supplying and providing accessible medicinal cannabis to a city's patients?

It appears to me that the American capitalist ideal is dominating the medical marijuana industry over there, and I do hope, for the sake of those in this country seeking cannabis reform, it does not have a negative impact with our nations leaders. Raising taxes on medicine doesn't help those that require the medicine, it just adds to their burdens. But then, the healthy sometimes forget that.

The negative vote is deserving, but only because of the sheer number of dispensaries. A better model would have been as I mentioned earlier, bigger dispensaries, less numbers. Make them into institutions for health, where not only medicinal needs can be met, but education and medical diagnosis can also be performed by canna-conscious professionals. This is a much better model for a Government to employ, rather than simply giving in to years of protest and allowing a free for all to anyone with a little money, a new legitimate source of wealth to pursue. It was about the sick, remember?

Money, truly is the root of all evil.

Los Angeles County has about 10million people living there, add in a few of the surrounding counties and there is more than 15 million people, 12 dispensaries is not enough...But 100+ is just too many...  No shock that LA is closing down pot-shops -Individual cities in Orange County (to the south of LA) are closing dispensaries like crazy.

On a related note wholesale prices in California are too low and Cannabis dealers are moving to states where "Medical Marijuana" is illegal..

Aye, per capita they would be in need of more. Sorry, but I was using an Australian city as a model, wasn't thinking about the post!( Doh)The biggest issue here would be regional Aus. The only logical solution is self supply, but there is still a gap in my argument in relation to distributing for regional requirements. Perhaps the nearest medical facility could distribute on behalf of the City dispensaries? But then 'lost' medicine comes to mind, it's a toughy!
