Underfluff, what to do with it?

Personally, I chop it all out. Im not interested in growing fluffy shit.

Here is a couple of pics, before and after to give you an idea

I strip all the under growth before turning 12/12. I do this prior to 12/12 so as not to stress the plant out in its head cycle

I do this for 2 reasons, 1. I want all the goodness to go to the tops and not be wasted on 'fluff'

and 2. to remove hiding places for bugs/diseases.

I have seen people placing lights underneath, but the benefit was minimal and if you have a water problem like a leak or a flood it can be VERY dangerous. ie water and electricity don't mix. Also water on a hot bulb will shatter the bulb.
