How much air is too much?

Hi all

 

Started to notice my bubble count dropping off on my dwc and some very light slime forming so I've decided its time for a new air pump and my question is how much air is too much? Current pump is double outlet both @ 2.5l/min. Looking at getting one of the electoemagnetic air pumps @ 20l/min. Would this be too much air for 2 10lt dwc res tanks if I split it between the 2?

With DWC the more air u can pump through with out causing damage to the root system the better.

Get the biggest air pump u can afford...

Agree with Ozzy, and can recommend the Hailea aquarium air compressors.

Or maybe open up your pump and check the rubber grommets... it's usually just 20C worth of rubber that needs replacing.

Holy doolies..... Put the new pump in last night with a res change, checked this morning and growth is looking more healthy then before! It's like a spa in there

For sure, can't have too much air . Unless you have a high end $400 unit I recommend running two simultaneously with a valve, last thing you want is your only one and only unit to fail because once the slime takes hold its hard to get rid of. I've had a resun fail on me before and this happened
