Look, if your tenants are moving out, then wait until they have left. You want NOBODY to know, nobody to know about plans, nobody to know about equipment. NOBODY.

I agree that It would be in my best interests to wait for the tennants to leave before i start a grow. As for buying the things I qill need (minus seeds) I would like to start buying them over time in any case i dont want to just drop $500-$600  or so on gear all at once, for financial and security reasons,  so as the story with these people evolves and I find out exactly what they are doing I will make a decision from there When exactly I set the gear up and drop a seed.

 

 

Any HID lighting will chew the power, be that a 600w or a 1000w, so don't fool yourself that nobody will know from your consumption, you maybe able to disguise it ie a 1000w heater, that you never use, in the corner. But it doesn't take a genius to work it out and co tenants don't need to be genius', there are easy signs that can be seen.

Hmm well this isn't good, do you have any specific information on how much of an increase it would be for my own pocket running a 600W HPS forgetting about tenants who wont be around in a while anyway (I am sure I can figure it out based on my rates) but I'm here so why not ask.

 

 

It is not only at harvest that you need to be concerned with the 'smell', during grow the odour can be easily distinguished and identified. And yes you could burn your house down with a clothes drier, but the use of the clothes drier is not illegal. If they found a cupboard full of lights and plants in that premise, even if the fire was started in the drier, the fact that the premises has an illegal activity would void your insurances.

Oh I realize that, I am quite sure however that ducting the air under my house with a filter would be sufficient based on my location/housetype,  something I am not aware of however, is there a strong smell of cannabis only after flowering begins or can it be noticed during veging?  

 

 

All deliveries to your 'growing' premises can be a concern. So receiving ANY hydro equipment via deliveries by courier or Australia Post to those premises is plain stupid. In stead of trying to skimp on price, bite the bullet and go buy your lights, then you take them home and you deliver them wherever they need to go, safety first.

To be quite honest with you i feel like I am asking to be caught just scrolling through ebay looking at hydro gear let alone buying, 

as I have said before though my slight concern is it is extremely hard to buy the gear from places all over (actual stores) like I would prefer to do because I do not drive nor would I want to ask for a lift/pickup from a mate while holding hydro/growing gear... like you said  2+2=4. So some buying on ebay might be needed,  I would use a pre paid cc, obviously not my ebay acc, and buy from outside of my state, unfortunately I also need a place for things to be mailed to, and like you said  getting something mailed to grow address is not something that should be done But on the other hand, I do not own a second house, nor do I want to be asking people if i can get Hydro equipment mailed to their house ...  and a PO BOX i have never actually had the need to use or have one... i would assume getting one would require my full name/address/personal info anyway...I'm getting offtrack again.

 

 

Another bit of advice, whatever 'another poster' told you about how much you will grow, take it with a huge grain of salt. A mate of mine was pulling pounds/crop from his room and I modelled mine on his. I have never been able to match his quantity, but he has never matched my quality. So don't go banking on what others have 'promised', get your setup up and going, learn from your mistakes ('cos there will be a few) and improve with each grow. But do not be going 'oh johno got 20 oz from his grow so I should get 20+ from mine' or banking on having a ripper crop and spending $$$ before you've got it in your hot little hand, cos one cockup or one visit from the filth and you are, in technical terms 'screwed'. And as for what you have seen on 'Youtube' forget it, make a start and start to learn for yourself.

Sound advice as usual!  I do take it as a 'grain of salt' however I have no first hand experience at growing so I do take on what everyone around here says, but of course I go off and look around to back up the info as well and to be honest, correct me if im wrong but I highly highly highly doubt i will get more than 30g-40g from 3-4 plants my first grow if im lucky and they all actually survive let alone 300g...like you said though no point asking what other people found for their specific grows, I need to do it for myself and find out.

Now I do have information but.........I cant find it. Admittedly it was from about 5 years ago when I measured everything, but I'm not sure where I put it.

But if you really want to know. The government had a big push on energy efficiency  a few years back and you can get a kit from some libraries, TAFE libraries have them, where you plug a meter into the powerpoint, then plug your appliance ie your ballast into the meter and it will tell you how much power you are using and you can workout the increase in your bill. I'll have a hunt around and find the readings here somewhere for my setup. the readings are in this computer somewhere I think

Some people can smell it in veg (or so they say, I cant. Unless I'm in the room) but when the plant gets bigger still in veg, the smell is stronger. Now in flower the aroma is multiplied and I do know that people can walk around the streets and smell it. ie a neighbour got blamed for the aroma of one of my crops, an elderly neighbour came out in hives from the pleasant aroma and blamed the young bloke next door. hee hee

My advise be careful, not alarmed. If you are aware of the risks and take every available precaution you can to minimise the risk, then that's all you can do. Don't get me wrong I have taken risks myself ordering stuff online or thru the post. But I knew the risk I was taking too.

Do it right and 300g is obtainable, easily. But as a beginner (and we all were at some point) Do not be banking on it, if you do get your 300g, its a bonus. That's the way to look at it. I say this cos I was one of these dumb cunts who banked on it and got burnt, not badly, but I learnt. DOH, the hard way. Now Ive been growing for a few yrs (10+) and have refined my techniques specific to my setup.  I make adjustments to improve where needed. And each crop is different, I have a nice collection of differing smokes and hashes. So If somebody tells you the know it all. Its bull shit. No two grows or setups are the same. As you say you'll find that out yourself
