only thing is that if these are real people then the mother could lose her kids.

alot of you will disagree but i dont think this sounds like neglect and counseling will be enough to sort them out.

some kids are just un controllable(the 13 yr old).

saying that the mother shouldnt have left them with 'druggies' is a bit rich coming from these boards.

WTF.....?  I was talking about my son, if I should hide it from him, or act normal with it.

I'm 22, and my parents know I grow and smoke. They live with it 

 

Okley dokley. That's a toughie. Good luck. Ask yourself how you would have felt if your parents had smoked in front of you as a youngie. Do you think it would have had a negative impact on your life. Also, is your child old enough to keep secrets. Its not something you want blabbed about in the schoolyard or during show and tell. I don't envy you having to figure this one out. Its thorny as fuck.

 

In light of the Edith Bevin revelation. Looks like pot smoking among pre-pubescants is rife up in the NT. Not that I didn't already know that. Anyone been to Darwin? Its a fucking furnace in Summer. Even in winter few people wear a shirt. The story is true and not an april fool joke. It was on the evening television news and those people don't fuck around with reports. They certainly wouldn't try on something this controversial.

 

Not knowing the impact of marijuana on such young minds I'm still not convinced its that big a deal. The emphasis should have been on the alcohol and cigarettes if anything. Besides, kids that young are rather adaptable. Everything around them is a new and mindblowing experience. They'd likely take getting stoned in their stride. Most kids have tried drugs even before they are born. You think those anti-pain drugs given to mothers before giving birth don't reach the little guy down in the womb? I'd need more facts before getting upset about juveniles smoking pot. She certainly didn't seem too spun out by the experience. She threw a tantrum after the bong was taken away.

I have found out over the weekend - these are real people, this is the result of an ongoing dispute. I don't want to say to much now but the story may be on a current affair early this week.

 

Welfare is involved and their may be custody issues.

 

The NT News are a pack of bastards. This was just another example of the tabloid journalism that we have to put up with. The NT News is the only daily newspaper in the NT.
