Auto advice needed

Recommended Posts

As Ive said before I have never grown this stuff before and my first attempt is an auto grown inside that gets moved around the house during the day to take full advantage of the sun from daylight to sunset.

The seed bank blurb claims that this variety will flower 9 weeks from seed, but the thing is now 92 days from seed and appears to be still growing.

Ive studied the forums checking out various pics and comments about autos and from that it seems to me that autos grow for a reasonably short period then just do their thing.  Mine seems to just want to keep growing and if it wasn't tied down and growing in lateral circles (to keep it the height down a bit) the two leaders would be 110 and 100 respectively from the top of the potting mix.

What is the norm for auto's and is this plant just a slow developer or am I doing something wrong.

PS relevant info is... 250 mm pot with pro-mix potting mix, growing indoors utilising natural light through east/north/west facing windows. After dark it is in the lounge room to take advantage of the warmer temperature compared to the other rooms of the house and therefore is exposed to the normal fluorescent lighting of that room until very late in the evening. Pictures taken with a flash at night and the strange white blob is a bit of foam I'm using to force one of the shoots away from another.

Sorry if the questions are a bit basic and silly but as a total newb I haven't the slightest bit of experience with this stuff to work out what to do with it.

Its actually in a  250mm pot

(I have been potting lots of cutting of shrubs into 8 inch pots and forgot that its in 250mm and have edited the first entry)

it does have roots coming out of it all over the place what size would you suggest potting it up to.

The only concern with size is whether I can manage to pick it up and carry the thing from room to room so I  might get one of those wheeled potplant things so I can drag it around instead of carrying it, then height/size wont matter much and it might be fun to see how big the thing will get.

I might let it grow a bit more then throw a sheet over it and see what happens.

PS thanks everyone for the advice

Looks like another Shitty unstable product from a crappy Breeder.

Auto Breeders tend to shove stuff on the market before getting it stable. Takes at least 5 Generations to get stable,

My guess is you have Gen 2 stuff.

Nothing wrong with your growing the plant looks tip top. I just hope it doesn't turn out to be a male plant.

Need to reduce the lighting availability down to 12 hours or less to get her into flower.

I went through the same thing a few years ago with AK47 FEM Auto seeds from Lowlife. I had several males and only one true Auto Female out of 10 seeds.

In hindsight it was a good thing because I kept the pollen and used it to on the Female and now have my own AK47 seed stock. So the breeder fuck up bad because now I have no need to buy more seed, and after another 2 Generations she is now 100% Auto and stable.

Karma can be a bitch.....you shitty Breeders out there are biting the hand that feeds you!

I just revisited the seedbank details to check out the breeder (and avoid them) the listing it does say that is "3rd Generation Autoflowering" so you were spot on with what the problem is and I will now be avoiding "new" releases. Thanks for that info you have probably saved me a lot of future time and effort.

I did contact the seedbank and they are sending some other "strains' as a goodwill gesture so the upside is that I will to practice on a few other varieties.
