Medical Cannabis for Pets

Recommended Posts

Bollocks! Until they can discern that an animals cannabinoid receptors are equivalent to a humans, shouldn't dose your pets with any amount of cannabis. Its animal cruelty, pure and simple. Seeds, on the other hand, my cocky loves em:-)

Your argument doesn't make sense, why would it be cruelty if the animals Cannabinoid receptors aren't exactly the same as a humans? Have you looked at any research comparing the Cannabinoid receptors of different species?

There are many studies on animals and cannabis, this is just one link, many proper academic papers on the subject.

The monkeys in that study were probably trying to kill themselves, or just get past the boredom ........... lol ........... who injects monkeys with Cocaine? I mean come on...... What, america didn't have enough crackheads to experiment with? Geebus...........

We are talking about Oils and Tincture treatments for Pets, Not getting ya dog stoned, or letting it eat Pot cake........... dosages would be like that of dog medicine, 1/4 the dosage of humans. All Mammals have Cannabanoid receptors in their Brains....... Maybe Nature is trying to tell us something??

Peace. Nibbler.

I read the report, monkeys injecting themselves in laboratories. I don't know any stoners that inject THC, and I don't know any stoners that do the equivalent of 30 bongs in an hour. The study appears to only focus on addiction in the monkeys, comparing pot to coke is just ludicrous. I'm not saying that pot doesn't have a tendency to be addictive, but the human brain is a hell of a lot more complex than most mammals, and we have the ability to control ourselves, and think for ourselves, not just rely on animal instincts, were not the top of the food chain for no reason. This is just my opinion, but if cannabis can benefit, if I was an animal, I'd prefer it to ketamine any day!

True, I believe it to be part of the evolutionary process that all living things evolve and adapt to suit the environment, as well as evolving mentally in the process, but the human species, until by flaw or folly, will always be that one evolutionary step in front.

I also need to rephrase a statement from my previous post, in relating cocaine and cannabis as ludicrous. Cocaine, and its properties, Cannabis, and its properties, not to mention Opium, and its properties, are all beneficial plants, but the addictive nature of cannabis, compared to that of the other two, is far from comparable.

I love animals, in the natural world, they know how to survive, by instinct, it's in our world, the domesticated world, these instincts differ. They are dependent on us, the humans, for everything. We clear the land for their pastures, sow the grain and manufacture their food, build shelters of various kinds to keep them from the weather. And of course, cage them in laboritories for testing. Its inevitable that this constant exposure to the human world, will cause these animals to adapt and evolve to suit their environment, our environment, in order to survive.
