Can U Get Short Wide Plants?

Recommended Posts

Im not much use here but, I have been looking at strains on thye net for awhile now.

Duck is one strain that grows low, otherwise most indicas can be trained low but they prefer inside.

Any sativa can be trained to be low and bushy, its in the tieing down and the tipping or fimming.

As for a particular strain??? :P

i hackem back. takes a bit longer for harvest but you'll get double the yield.

i've got a couple of threads in outdoor growin explaining pruning(hacking) plants back.

i usually hackem back in when they are established and make clones outta the cuttings :D

Wade do you get more yield from tipped or fimmed?

I always had the dumb Idea in my head that all it done was to even the canopy out and you actually grew two smaler buds compared to one bigger bud?

But you have noticed the difference is good enough for me, I will hack all my bitches from now on. :D

Hey Ferengi,

I have found that outdoors, buds from topped plants are only a bit smaller than untopped. But there's more of em. Overall yield is better for me that way.

One other little trick I was taught helps this even more if you are able to tend your plants a bit. I top a few times outdoors then go back and remove some of the shoots on the "inside" (if you were looking down from above). sometimes you get so many shoots that they shade and crowd each other. Opening up the inside of the canopy and thinning them out helps all the other buds get bigger. The overall plant takes on a bowl shape.

Best yield I ever got was on one that I had fimmed indoors first. She came up with 4 mainstems. When it went outdoors I just started tying her down outwardly. She got huge laterally and the buds shot straight up. Like an outdoor scrog. Yield was massive and I didn't lose any to budrot from wet buds crammed together.

Best

Some people dont like cutting the tip out of the crown , another method you can do is to , at about 6 inch or so from the top squash the stem between your fingers so it is flat , try not to split it but if you do it will still do fine , and just let the top flop to the side , the plant will react as if you have cut the tip out making all your side branches shoot out but you still have a big crown .

Ive done this indoors as well on any tops that got in the way , dont hurt em at all and acts like you tipped them .

A mull plant can be trained to grow in any shape you like , by tying and tipping , I had a plant once that I grew flat on the ground , it was started indoors and trained down and wide , taken outside and every few days the new growth was pinned to the ground with stiff wire U pushed into the ground , this plant yeilded bigtime and was only about a foot high and about 12 foot around , you could stand withing a few feet of it and not see it , it was in amoungst wattle regrowth .
