Marijuana Pill May Be Better for Pain

Recommended Posts

Fucking greedy pharmo company still trying to jump on the band wagon and make a quick buck by shoving it into a pill.

They always focus on the negative effects of 'smoking' and plaster it everywhere - they don't want to understand or realise people are already self medicating by not smoking - ie vaping, eating, tincture etc - they just want to make their slice of the profits.

Too true Jester, and they'll probably end up fucking it up and causing unwanted side effects by stuffing up the balance of the different cannabinoids etc.  They are obviously looking to crack into the mainstream market, rather than existing converts, in order to increase profits for the shareholders.  Sad thing is that it's the pharma companies who are in the best position to research and develop cannabis medications with targetted effects etc, but they will tend to direct research based on profitability rather than what end users want and/or need.

They need to demonise smoking as a form of administration in order to try and get a monopoly on the medical usage of the drug, so you can't really blame them for trying I suppose.  Thing that worries me is the amount of political sway they hold, particularly in the states.  If they start making money from cannabis based med's, I see the day where they start lobbying the government over there to overturn the legalisation that has been acheived in a few states.  But maybe I'm just a cynical old bastard.
