Venting Hot Air Out Of A Metal Shed Any Ideas?

Recommended Posts

i need some help venting my shed i would like it to be vented out of the roof but i dont want one of those big bulky whirly bird things to sticking out the top of my shed but i really need the hot air from the sun hitting the roof vented i was looking at a little solar powered fan

heres the info

Solar Exhaust Vent Cat. 2598 BIAS Price $59.90

Exhausts up to 680 cubic feet per hour. Diameter 215mm.

located at http://www.biasboating.com.au/hatch_n_vents.html

do u think this fan will work for a 4.5 x 6.5 x 6 shed?

the grow chamber is already being vented out of the shed so this fan is only to cool down around the roof area of the shed

I can tell ya what not to use....one of those roof vents (the whirlies) unless your shed is surrounded by trees...

On my nightly cycle rides I can count the number of houses with sheds with weed in them...ie on a cold day their whirlies are going 1000 miles an hour while the ones on their house roofs arent...

If your only running a couple of lights Id use a whirlie but 8K watts setups really need other methods of ventilation

Try creating an artifical roof/ceiling inside your shed and sticking an extraction fan in that to push the air out......plant trees around your shed so the sun doesnt warm up the tin so much etc etc...

:P im only using one 250hps that doesnt produce the heat its mainly the sun hitting the tin that really heats things up i was also thinking of those little whirly things on top of buses but ive been looking all over the net and cant seem to find any they are also found on utes with canopys and work vans do u think that solar power fan would be sufficient venting the hot air out?

also with those whirly things on the buses, utes, vans they have this circle thing on the inside that closes the hole great for winter ;) ive been working on two buses that have these vent/fans the exhaust hole is about 80mm

does anyone know where i can get a vent online?

thanks
