Need advice info first up auto grow

Recommended Posts

Background:

I have never grown cannabis before and have been practising on two auto jack47 that are 59 days old from when the seed was tossed in water.

They are growing  indoors BUT with natural light. I have been guessing about feeding and took a stab in the dark with some minimal training based on comments from the forums.

Questions:

What would be a reasonable size to expect it to be by now

or alternatively what size should I be aiming for with a potted indoor plant in natural light.

How do you know if/when it will flower?

Hi Eccentric..

In basic terms your questions have many variables,  size of your plant will depend on many things like food , sun and water,  strain..  growing medium and seed viablity.. I d be aiming for a healthy plant, use your eyes to check the plants condition.. keep notes about feeding , it helps not to over feed and water cannabis..  there are plenty of information sources out there.  but if i was to guess at the size of your plants given the information above..i'd say no higher than 50cm and it would have 12 or so nodes... thats what id expect.. could you put a pic up and let me see if i was close..??

flowering is triggered by a photoperiod change in the seasons, as the nights get longer, the plant will flower, either male flowers or female flowers.

good luck!

Got a pic....indoors with natural light im guessing there streatching for the sun n very lanky n skinny., if ya wana grow MJ indoors sucessfully ya gona need to buy lights, fans, nutrients, meters ect ect..

if ya wana grow under the sun put it outside is my 2 cents worth.

but 60 days from seed under proper lights ya plant could be fuckin massive.

Ya say ya read up on training........might be over due to read up on the rest buddy sorta heading in the wrong direction

They are auto so should just do there thing at some stage (thats why I got that seed- no so much for a total newb to try to get my head around)

They were not feed for the first 4 or more weeks while I waited for the specialised stuff to turn up so they had to rely entirely on the pro-mix potting mix with a small amount of osmoscote in 250mm pot (8inch).

I took out the head to try to iniate lateral growth and also tried to tie them down a little to allow the sunlight access through the canopy and also that fruit trees tend to bear better when growing along an unnatural line (horozontal) due to slowing of sap and and light stress.

These are the most recent pics but not great ones, (yes you are allowed to laugh) I have no idea of what I am doing, what is a reasonable outcome or what is diabolical so would appreciate it if you could give me some idea of what I should/should not be doing and what to aim for with my next attempt so I can try to get closer to geting it right so to speak and how do you know when its going to flower?

The second pic demonstrates its structure the lower laterals havent done as well as what I'd hoped. The dimension are 25cm to where headed, leaders are 36 and 40cm, laterals 28/24 and 17/21.

PS.. to pispot grower, yes I know I will need to get the indoor gear but came to growing these totally by accident and am having a practice with one or two with until I can get things set up properly which will take a while, outside is not an option.

I had read about people growing things in that coconut or whatever it is, I will at some stage tackle it because peopel seem to get better results but as a total newb to not only these plants but indooor plants, at the moment it feels like I jumping ahead of myself and taking a step too far adding another unknown to what I already dont know .

I started to grow the thing before I found this forum so it didnt get any special treatment until I read in here about how hungry they can get and saw the pics of various nutrient problems so eventually acquired some kind of cannabis specific food for them ("gro-juice") but only been feeding once every 10 days or so.

I've been wandering throught the pic dump fairly regularly trying to work out what a proper plant should look like but its often hard to tell because they usually are either part of a plant or are something growing outside.  I havent the faintest idea of what "normal" is and havent the faintest idea either of how you tell if its going to flower or not. These were feminised seed so thankfullly I havent had to try my hand at sexing them but have some regular seeds that I am looking forward to tackling when I have the gear and a lot more grow smarts.
