Hemp Growers Send Cannabis To Educate Politicians

Recommended Posts

Two and a half tonnes of cannabis has been sent to Federal Parliament in a bid to educate politicians about the difference between industrial hemp and marijuana.

Philip Warner from Queensland's Ecofibre Industries Limited says too many politicians do not know that industrial hemp is useless as a drug.

He says each politician has been sent a 15 kilogram bag of hemp mulch in an effort to change their thinking.

"Every time we write to the Federal Government they keep throwing back in our face this thing about hemp being associated with marijuana," he said.

"They are not at all assisting in being able to develop a new industry for global consumption.

"Our concern is we're going to miss the boat ... it's full steam ahead in China and Europe and we in Australia are floundering."

They know the difference. They just don't care. The only reason cannabis was ever made illegal was to kill the Hemp industry. The bastards are just playing dumb. So long as the US is pulling their strings Hemp will never get the full go ahead. We will only have trials, temporary licenses and then stepping back to complete illegality in repetitive cycles aimed at confusing the Hemp lobby.

How true@ Chong

History repeats itself, respectively remains: Look at why cannabis was prohibited in America, and all that moulded game between Du Pont, Hearst Paper and Anslinger. Those billion dollar industries DEPEND on the prohibition of cannabis, especialyl as a crop. The attitude the government displays in that respect mirrors the position of millions of people: They are reluctant to distinguish, and therefore cannabis got a stigma that keeps its economic position low as people are still suspicious of it. Condemned to be a flora non grata, and it will remain. Germany was until 1996 against the legalisation of hemp, and even now, if you want to grow hemp as a farmer or just for the joy of it, you have to apply at the Drug Division of the government and it costs you hell of a money and time to get a permission- if you do at all: One good example is what happened at the Hanfparade in Berlin three years ago. The organisers planted hemp at their stands- and got arrested and sued. Now, three years later, the trial is still continuing.

In that sense a big f*** you to those ignorant fools who still believe they can supress information about this amazing plant. Some day the world will not be able to function without weed as Jack Herer states.

The time will judge us.
