SydVaper81
Well yeah I quite like it. Mainly just because of the trial and error experience. It's very interesting to me to see what works, what doesn't, check out combinations and the like. Why no onions, does the machine retain the smell or does it just stink out the house?...cos yeah I'd really thought about making onion/garlic flakes...I don't mind if the house smells, just don't want it clinging to any smells/flavours in the machine. So beans - that work for the kind've camping food you're talking about?

SydVaper81
So like, a sunbox kind've thing?I've heard of some pretty good jerky being made in those. I just did a bunch more apples and pineapples, they're almost read now. Place smells great. If you like dehydrating though, you should really look into buying one of the electrical ones, they're relativelylow in terms of power consumption and it's just awesome to be able to use it whenever you want. dING2
N ah electric is crap Solar much better and quicker at Times does not cost bugger all And you can do twice as much at a time Not a real good picture but gives ya the idea We dry heaps of stuff all summer And eat it all winter tis good for Jerky also Made one lot to try it out
SydVaper81
Well, I mean I'm sure electric is not ideal as per the natural method...but, like personally I go with the benefit of just doing it whenever I like. I see validity to both though, each to their own. I don't doubt that on a good day it'd likely be faster...but then, there are some really commercial units that look like they could do amazing stuff. Looks like a nice unit though. I'm in an apartment so it's kind've a no-go for space here.
