Foreign Minister Bob Carr said most Australians would agree Ms Corby had the right to put her case before parole authorities.

"We've advised Indonesian authorities the Australian government supports thegranting of parole to Ms Corby," he said in a statement on Sunday.

"Thisletter of guarantee - backed by strict reporting requirements - is necessary in order for the parole application to proceed."

True to his word Bob Carr has helped an Australian citizen in trouble overseas. He's a good man. Much respect to you Bob Carr.

I hope that bogan mother of Corby's thanks him for his efforts,... I doubt it though.

 

 

 

Opposition foreign affairs spokeswoman Julie Bishop said it wasn't clear how the

government could guarantee the behaviour of an individual overseas.

"I don't understand the nature of the guarantee, that's not been made clear," she told Network Ten on Sunday.

"But it is appropriate that the government seek to pursue an opportunity for Schapelle Corby to secure parole."

Corby would be up the creek without a paddle with this twit helping.

She's damn lucky to have had a senior statesman like Carr in her corner.
