I got some pretty fly friends?

Recommended Posts

Hey, I've got an auto star ryder and a "the ultimate" under CFL's in a cabinet. They spent their first 5 weeks or so outside in the rain and I noticed these flies (I think they're "Dolichopodid Flies") on them occasionally & wasn't too concerned.

Once I put them in the cabinet the fly population seemed to increase dramatically. The other day I noticed the same white spots appearing which I got on my last grow due to spider mites. I used the same formula (which worked last time) it seems to be killing the flys off faster but the white spots are increasing aswell as some yellow spots and holes.

I've read these flies feed on aphids and other pests, could they maybe of been controlling my mite problem before?

Could something else be causing the yellow spots? Any feedback would be appreciated

Cheers,

Raz

Heya Razzles..... Eco-neem from bunnings or Miterid from hydro shop, they both pretty tame, and will kill both. Need to re-apply every 3 days , at least twice.

Spray under the leaves... IMPORTANT! and drench the soil mix with it as well.

Looks like ya got some funky slow release shit in ya coco mix....... NO NO....... Coco nutes for Coco..... slow release for veggy patches =).

Peace. Nibbler.

Thanks Nibbler, you suggested I use miterid last time and I couldn't find it..but I got something similar from a grow shop, that worked great..

I had no idea about mixing the slow release with coco, I followed a recipe I got somewhere off here, maybe not close enough ;P

Thanks again, Raz
