yeah that's the trade off you pay ... either grow with low watt CFL's and get a possibly small harvest or pay the extra go with yer 600-1000w hps and get a bigger crop.

 

or veg with cfls then switch to hps ... might save a bit of money.

My whole house with 2 2000 watt HPS and two box fans,one bathroom ex fan hooked to top of hood,2 timers,and a small electric fan to heat while lights are off. I use a small propane heater,running only the pilot light for my added CO2. 

My bill runs from 220.00 to 420.oo < which was funny till I had to Pay it) 

 

I figure my room adds about 120.00 to my bill. 

 

I have got up to over a kilo with this amount of light So I cant complain about the bill.

My bill is quartley, $1450.00 for the expensive time, $483/month running a 600W on 12/12 a 400W on 18/6.

including heating and cooking for myself, and the putty wich runs 24/7

It was revealed on Friday that the state's electricity prices are set to rocket by up to 23 per cent after recommendations by the Queensland Consumer Authority (QCA).

 

EG:, a current $1000 power bill will become $1230 from July 1st.

Is that 23 cents in Qld? I thnk NSW are already that most expensive state.

Im installing solar power ASAP. I cnat afford to do this with the current prices. The schemes are only good if u use during the day and boy do I.

Power was $192 when had the light on (400w) for 3 weeks.  Last power bill was $247, no lights.  Go figure.
