KNO3 spray to induce flowering?

Hi all,

Has anybody had experience in using a KNO3 solution to induce flowering? I've read it can be used to induce fruit in mango trees as well as other fruiting/flowering plants. An initial spray, leave for 4-5 weeks then another spray is what they recommend. Any thoughts on this?

Sorry should have been more specific.... From what I've read it encourages the plant to start flowering ands speeds up the general flower process.

I know flipping to 12/12 does this but if you could spray a plant say 1 week before flipping in theory its hormones could alread be prepared for the change?

Potasium Nitrate:

"It is recommended that a 1% potassium nitrate solution mixed with a sticker agent (adhesive) be sprayed on to the tree, totally drenching its terminals and leaves."

Is this a method used in citrus and stone fruit? I couldnt find anyone using it on hemp.

Be great to have a go 1% KNO3, how hard could that be?

Thanks iTiC, very interesting :) The solution I read about is 40g to 500ml water for the concentrate, then 1:10 ratio for the spray.

Here are the articles I have read which lead me to ask the question.

So what does everyone think? Plausible? I may be able to get some KNO3 so might give it a go.

Ok so I made up some solution and gave my (hopefully girl, no indication yet for girl or boy) Columbia Gold a nice spray 10min before lights out. Tomorrow is Day 1 of week 2 so we will see what happens :)

EDIT: Anyone wondering the NPK ratio for the KNO3 I have is = 13.7:0:38.4

Do you have a girl that goes without? It would be great to see by how much or how little the thing is working.

Unless you know the variety well??
