Hail damage Q's?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys and girls,

This is my first post here and i have a few questions. I don't want to be "that guy" but i will likely have some follow up questions regarding nutrients and out door grows.

So here is the story...

I placed my first ever order with Attitude and when it arrived, i went about germing some of the seeds in early October. Once planted, 2(GH The Doctor & Bomb's Berry Bomb) went almost straight to flower after around 3 weeks in bigger pots(4ish weeks from seed). This was not a big issue for me as i don't mind having something to smoke while i'm waiting for the rest to mature. The problem is, about 2 weeks ago we had a huge hail storm that did some damage to one particular plant(GH's The Doctor). It sustained a lot of damage to it's fan leaves and stunted any signs of growth untill now.

It instantly bruised all flowers at the time of the hail and they looked as if they would die but they are off and running again now. According to GH, it has around 5 weeks left in it's cycle.

Is there anything i should do other than leave it alone?

I'm growing in pots using a quality "re-potting" mix and giving the occaisional sprinkle of "Aussie Gardens Complete Garden Food". Watering using tap water with a PH of 5.5.

The reason i ask is that i was recently donated a huge tub of nutrients from a retired friend and don't really know where to start with it all as i have always just used the above mentioned Aussie branded stuff in previous years.

Anyways... any advice or suggestions would be greately appreciated :)

Pics included: Before, after and current state of flower.

G`day and welcome

My first suggestion would be to go here and say g`day...

Anyways, about your wall of stuff.

- are these plants autos?

- or are you in the tropics?

- am I right thinking they at ~8 weeks?

No experience with either strain meself.

The best thing to do would be leave that plant alone a bit, yeah. As for the rest of it, what potting mix, how big pot, whats the fert you using?

Dunno what your mate gave ya...

Love to talk about the stuff thats wrong in them pix but I dont know you :D

The strain in question is The Doctor feminized from Green House.

Genetics: Great White Shark x South Indian x Super Skunk

Grown In: a 45cm high pot that would hold probably 25l

I'm in a Sub Tropical area... think Nimbin sort of climate

Yep! 8 weeks is about right.

RE: box of stuff:

It roughly 10 bottles of grow " juices". Both bloom and veg ans some vitamins.

Hi dude,

Hail damage is just bad luck. The girls will heal them selfs.

On the food you mate gave you. Main rule of food is, if you don't know anything about it, don't use it.

Best food is in the soil you group in. Mushroom compost is great, worm castings, ect ect. Start with you soil before looking at chem food.

Happy growing

Hail is quite a prob for budding plants, veg not so much. A good hail storm can wipe out a whole crop if it wants. Just leave them be, thats what i would do or hit them vith some chicknen manure, charlie carp or some other nitrogen based fertiliser to get them out of flower and allow them to re veg for a bigger harvest come may or so.
