Doesn't the freezer render the seed useless as it ruptures the cells once they freeze? Why not just the fridge in a light proof container with moisture absorber?

 

Not usually, cannabis seed has very low moisture content. That said there is no need to do anything like that to store seed for a single year. All they need is a cool dark location.

Ok.....just soaked two for 24 hours, now they in a sealed baggie with wet make up removal pads!

Sitting in a warm dark garage.

lets hope these two don't fail.

put them in a cup of water in a dark warm place.... do not disturb at all for 2 days .... no need over-complicating a very simple procedure.

all ya need is 2 small plates line the insides with paper towel then use spay bottle to mist paper put a few beans in the middle of them wrap in glad wrap and store in a warmish area simple iv never had a problem with this method.

Never had a problem putting the seeds into a seed raising mix kept moist and warm until they germinate ...

Popping older seeds in a cup of water for 24 hours helps when they have been dormant for a while .

 

You will get problems germinating in bags or under your arm / in your underwear drawer or whatever .

Keep it simple , healthy seeds should germinate 90 percent or higher .

dopedogs got you nailed only thing I would add is keep your seeds moist with rain water and when they sprout so on not hard to do

I thought it may be dodgy seeds. Two have grown stems in pots and seem to have lost the first two round leaves.

But I think I have a grasshopper problem.

As fast as they grow, they are being eaten.

How do I get rid of them. Just killed 5 of them with my fingers!

you know those pop up fly food protectors , put one of those over the seedling until they are bigger, they dont stop light or rain

Cut a coke bottle in half and use it as a humidity crib until they're a little bigger. More chance of surviving Edited December 12, 2012 by nici
