What cfl to use

Recommended Posts

Bunnings sells the Phillips cfl's.. Recently purchased 3 of the 100w equivilant bulbs, (20w cool white) for the new light set up in my veg cupboard and my girls are loving it.. each bulb puts out 2450lumen (so over 7200lumen total) with a 10,000hr life And only ran me about $20 for the three.. An equivelant and cheaper solution than the expensive 80wers in my opinion

Heya Grow420, they are only 20 bucks for 3 globes because they not the same, and the one Philips CFL bulb is the same size as ya light fittings for HID ( E40), so ya don't need any extra holders, plugs, sockets, leads....... just the adapter to go straight into wall socket, and an international socket adapter will work if ya cant find a proper one.

The grow globe has a air pump ventilated core that prevents overheating and allows airflow to the element to cool it.

The 80w globe is a true 80w- so equivilent to 250w. Lumen output is 5300, and that was tested by me with a lumens meter.

Bet if ya lumen test ya globes they be a lot less than 2450 lumens each. There is NO way, ya 3 x 20w globes put out more lumens than 1 x 80w globe, its a simple matter of wattage. More wattage... the more lumens.

80w globe at 50 bucks online is best bang for buck. I run 2 in me veg cabinet, great globe. By the time ya spend money on all the other shit ya need, you be close to  what it costs for one of the better globes.

Peace. Nibbler.

Lights and fittings etc ran me about $40.. But thats exactly it, a cheap set up. I'm only using the cupboard set up I have now as a temporary solution (opshop cupboard) while I plan/build new cabinet. I might keep an eye out for these 80wers and givethem a go in mycabinet to be :)

As everyone knows, you only get out what you put in
