Backyard Privacy Idea's?

Recommended Posts

Some top ideas here thought i would just add i am currently using mulberry trees, tomatoes, corn & eggplant as screens.Mulberries can take straight poultry manure often. Lemongrass is ace for keeping nasties away n easy to crush leaves cut as mulch very strong aroma. Rosemary works well in cooler climes. cheers good luck with your grow :gardening:

Hiya major-excellent topic mate

I have been dropping acmena smithii (lillypilly) in appropriate locations around the yard w/attention to privacy/wind/solar access. They've only been in a month or so and have just settled and are starting to power up a bit-fast growing, psyllid(?) resistant and shape em if ya want in a few months. Right now I am sourcing some cheap 4-6 meter bamboo that isn't structurally invasive (some will be located around the fence perimeter) that looks decent and isn't too exxie.

'Nibbler's got me thinking about designing a bamboo greenhouse, so the bamboo must deliver a culm of around 20-40 mm and able to be harvested for my trellises and next yrs bamboo greenhouse! :toke:

Vitex for purple and calmness I've read. I have heard about the lavender and I love the stuff-I have not planted any yet though lol I can and have grown lemongrass and didn't even think about it disguising odor.

Wouldn't want that S'Easter blowing inappropriate aromas into the 2nd storey units next door lol ....waffling

Peace to yas. v :sun:
