ph buffer solution

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Calibrated my ph pen. And now that I have it seemed a bit out, was out by .4. After adjusting it and watering the plants it seems they have gone a light green. to suggest nute lockout.

Is it possible my ph buffer solution was out of date or off ? It was an old tub.

I'll be buying more tonight but was just wondering.

Thanks

How can it be operator error? It isn't complicated to calibrate a meter.

I was feeding at 5.8 with a runoff of 5.9 , everynow and then I'd feed a touch lower if it read 6.

Feeding my two outdoor plants at 1.6 and the two autos the same.

Noticed my autos slightly turning a pale green, then one of the outside plants went very light green.

Checked the calibration and in the ph solution it was out - thought that could be the problem. Just seems weird to be out by so much.

In coco feeding with dutchmaster flower a and b.

Not sure about the problem but I found a bottle of solution that is about 15 years old and checked it after your post, it was spot on.

Apart from that my PH is all over the place, in a range from around 5 to 7, in flower it drops every day (which is actually a good thing as it shows the plants are pigging out lol) so I'm using PH up most days.

When I was growing in Rockwool I never bothered about PH, in fact didn't own a meter for years and never had a problem.

Just a thought but maybe you should let the PH drift around a bit more, maybe up to 6.4 or even a little higher than that.

Are ya letting ya coco dry out properly Oldman? sometimes bogging em down will give the same look as lock out, Paling/yellowing leaves down low to start, slow growth.

I would just get the PH one drop test kit....... I never use a meter. Meters go wrong, or arent calibrated properly , or are just cheap shit from China.

Chemical re-action never reads wrong......

Peace. Nibbler.
