Cannabanoid Testing Labs. Australia?

Recommended Posts

Hi there I am hoping to test cannabis for its medicinal properties. Particularily for Cannabidol content , otherwise known as CBD, respective to THC.

There is someone I know whom is dieing from a very serious terminal illness and could benefit from the non psychoactive compound CBD from the cannabis plant that does not get you stoned.

I was hoping to test some cannabis samples that have a high opportunity for being higher in ratio of CBD content respective to THC content.

I was wondering if there is a lab, maybe a research lab that would use preferably gas chromatography to anaylse cannabis samples like they are doing in America and Israel but in Australia.

I know there is also small kits that can be purchased from the internet, however, I am unsure on the accuracy of these kits and am looking for the best and most accurate testing available.

Does anyone have any knowledge in this area, or know someone whom might be able to point me in the right direction? As for testing kits, facilities or potentially existing clones, or prior tests that have been done by people in Australia?

Thankyou

That's a real shame. Even the leaves of the plant would serve as a suitable substrate for testing and have litterally no THC.

It is sad to know that people who are dieing from Terminal illnesses or diseases are genuinely unable to receive potential medical benefit from cannabis because it remains illegal. :protest

I will continue my search into potential testing kits/labs and let people know how I go in this thread or another on Ozstoners.com. .

Thanks :)

I would think that South Australia would be the best place to conduct testing of medical cannabis samples in Australia, but even possession of cannabis there is illegal, or at least regulated. :(

South Australia

In 1987, South Australia was the first state to decriminalise minor cannabis offences. The possession of up to 100 grams of marijuana, 20 grams of hash (the resin from the cannabis plant), one non-hydroponic plant or cannabis smoking equipment leads to a fine from $50 to $150 with 60 days to expiate.

What a sham, when people with Cancer and other illnesses including those that are subjected to chronic pain can not benefit from a naturally occuring substance because it is illegal. The laws should change to accomodate these people.

Is cannabis legal in SA? I was allways under the impression that cannabis is legal in some parts of Australia. Where if you are caught in possesion of small amounts of cannabis that it is tolerated.?

Thanks :)

As mentioned above, it`s illegal in all of Aus, stupid but true. Seems we`re not the most compassionate society or culture beyond looking after them poor Pharma` companies and their shareholders...

For current legislation look in this forum. Current S.A legislation is right here

Hearing you all too clearly mate regarding treatment of cancer etc...theres a lotta genuine research with backable trials and positive results that go against that which the Govco and other interested parties want to hear or even discuss. These trials they seem to dismiss all too easily, while happily funding such ridiculous entities as the NCPIC...

Your wishes for testing etc I cant help in any way but to hope you find ways or means. Speak to a mod named Mongy Man, he has the same ideas and is looking into it.

I am unable to answer anything about the labs/testing, aren't seedbanks pretty close to the mark when it comes to THC content and CBD content? obviously there would be variables to take into account (lights nutes e.t.c)

could try putting your friend onto tony bower- director of mullaways medical cannabis/tincture?

Also gotta take into account phenotype variation, that tested product which could have been a 1 in a million clone only strain found from the genepool of said cannabis. Also could be a bunch of marketing, which is what the seed game seems to be now lol

From what I have seen the actual THC content appears to be lower that 'advertised' by seed banks.

I say 'advertised' because marketing people can say crap like "up to 20% THC" but actual test shows 12%...the Up to 20% statement, while not 100% honest, is correct... sad yet true

Great link BTW, I spent a bit too much time surfing the site...
