How do i slow her down

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I have a question about 1 of my plants it is the same age as my dwc plant but it seems to be weeks behind its still only has a few white hairs coming through where the other one has flowers now,it dosent seem to be changing much.

im not sure if im doin anything wrong with it.its gets watered 5 times a day and its a water to waste system in a bucket of clayballs

any info will be great.

heya Refer =) , nice to see ya joined 420crew man, Welcome! .......not sure on the EC, I dont use it. As for the two plants, DWC is one of the fastest growing, flowering methods. But could be different phenos, or a number of things.

I have Sativa dominant strains that flower later than more Indica strains, so I drop me flowering light cycle to 11 hours on 13 hours off, helps get em on track a lil faster, but they still take a week or so more.

Wait till you can adjust ya PH though, because I think once you sort that, the one in Hydroton will take off, the clay will affect PH more than the DWC will.

happy growing.

Peace. Nibbler.

Hey,

the trick is to supercrop at the right time ... just before the stretch when flipping to 12/12 or even within a first week of flip to 12/12 is ideal..... the problem i have found growers have with this technique is most growers are too chickenshit to really pulverise the stalk when bending, and are too pissy/fragile with the plants .... when not done properly within a day the shoots will have repaired and be damn near straight vertical already .... thus not really curbing stretch .... i supercrop as much as 8 or 9 inches from the top of the colas... some plants you can supercrop back up to first week of bloom no worries, ive supercropped them back as much as 2 weeks or so into bloom (for a 10 week finisher) when i've misjudged a plants stretch previously... some stretch until week 3 .... hell some sativa dominant strains can stretch for much longer ...... if you dont know the strain youre growing its harder to judge when supercropping should proceed.... you can always tie back aswell ...

peace n pot,

Thanks for the info,When I supercroped, scroged and tied down the next night they were straight back up.

What is your reasoning behind not doin the 72hr off?

Since i have scroged and tied down, the stretch has slowed down alot and the flowers are growing

Do you have any info on the correct ppm or ec levels?

Thanks

Yeah, you can go pretty hard on them branches and they heal fine.

Chance of freaking the plant with the 72hr dark into being hermie, or increasing the chance. Probably would slow it down too. I have done it and wont again, dont know if it cause problems, I just ride it out now. They will flower when they want to/have to.

As forr PPM, its a bit hard to say. Gotta know what ya water is (which you will soon) and there are other variables too. Its best to know how your plants are and react, especially with the unknown. Cant comment too much as DWC is not my thing.
