Just wanted to know your opinions,

Seems to me that they get real results

Just found this where this guy does a side by side test of led vs hps/MH

this is the last episode

great clips, Thanks for posting judgefudge

opinions ... well im impressed with the 1st clip grow, as the grower says the lights were provided by Prosource so there was no problem with hardware and thats gotta be aknowledged as a huge bonus

also noted the LED used being 180watt covered a 2x2foot area so thats alotta lamps. nevertheless its the best example ive seen of a LED grow

clip #2 with the side by side grow is brilliant in terms of comparison, and it seems the grower there had no real reason to favour either led's or hps, and once again the led's performed quite well, though i still think LED's dont have the intense penetration through the canopy that hps does

IMO we are still in the early days of LED horticultural lighting and there may well be further refinements and improvements with LED's that may see them as a viable alternative to hps, but for now myself being a hobby grower as opposed to commercial growers in these two clips, i will stick with my hps

Bulllllllllllllshiiiiiiiiitttttttt........... can ya say marketing Ploy?....................... first cock smoker says he's getting 5-8 oz off every 180w UFO....... Lmao ........

Even at 5 oz for 180W.....thats 140g from 180W (0.7g/w).......at 8 oz for 180W ....... Thats 224g from 180W( 1.24g/w) ......... Thats almost 1.3g per watt...... Like to see that..... lol

No one coming onto this site has even put their money where their mouth is with LED's, every diary ends before harvest, and no-one claiming those yields, cause if they did, I'd take notice.

They are 420 bucks each on Ebay.....and even the specs on their lights there dont match their claims.........all smoke and mirrors.......

Next..........

Mr blue Goo is pretty spot on..... but there is no partion between the LED grow and the HPS grow, so the LED is being supplimented by the HPS.......

They are 600w panels too.... lol . so they still use as much power as a 600w HPS......just run cooler.....WOW........

At least thats an independent review, not some farcical marketing video, cough....cough........

I'm not against Lighting thats cheaper to run, has lower heat for our Aussie summers, all for it.

But in winter LED's arent cheaper if ya have to heat ya growroom to make up for the heat they dont put out.

You may save money on power, but thats proportional to yield. Ya get out what ya put in....

And, as in the first video, ya have to buy that many friggin Ufo's to do a grow that size, that could probably be done with 6-8 x 1000watters.........ya really gotta ask yaself....is it worth all the puss, and the HUGE upfront expense.......

But i forget, only Seppos know how to grow, the rest of us are idiots...........

Peace. Nibbler.

I was gunna have my say but Nibbler took the words right out of my mouth. The guy in the first vid was a big tool too, put me off UFO's altogether.

Dudes.....I've recently bought a 300W 3W led light off eBay for around 300. I figured, fuck it, someone has to try it. The 300 is probably oversized for my space, but thought given the criticism is penetration to go for more power. It also has switches to independently turn on and off the vege or flowering coloured lights.

I'll see how I go once its all setup and ready to go. I'll run a grow journal for any interested. I figured worst case is I can use it to vege and put a 400W HPS in there to bud if need be. At least others can benefit from the experience.

From hunting around on the net it seems there is good evidence for good yields from the high end led lights...but who wants to pay $1000 for a light? Especially for something not totally proven?

If it works it works, if not it was a 300 dollar experiment. Stay tuned, just getting my shit sorted first....

O...k, thanks for the wise words and positive outlook, we're all much better off for it. Like I said earlier, after months of searching online I could only find a handful of journals through to completion involving LEDs. And they were large commercial grows which turned out very well......of course investment in lights was very high indeed. So the umpteen others you quote....I couldn't find them. Apart from grows using the cheapest UFO light by guys who've never done it before.

Dropping 300 on a panel is neither here nor there for the experiment for me currently. 10 years ago 300 was the world and I wouldn't and didn't stray far from the proven methods. Maybe this can be useful for someone. After all this is a hobby for me, not commercial and growing slightly differently is interesting to me.

Finally I'm not naive in thinking this panel will be the ducks nuts...I didn't pay ducks nuts prices. In my current setup it's grow without a high heat bulb, or don't grow at all for 4 mths of the year. Take your pick....
